Cooking Thursday

The Meijer in my area often has pork tenderloin on sale, buy one, get one free. So, I buy when it's on sale and have one left in the freezer. I was looking for something new to do with it and I found this recipe. It's a crockpot recipe which is always nice and the meat turned out so good! Crockpot Brown Sugar Balsamic Glazed Pork Tenderloin

2 pounds Pork tenderloin
1 teaspoon Ground sage
½ teaspoon Salt
¼ teaspoon Pepper
1 clove Garlic; crushed
½ cup Water
½ cup Brown sugar
1 tablespoon Cornstarch
¼ cup Balsamic Vinegar
½ cup Water
2 tablespoons Soy sauce

Mix together the seasonings: sage, salt, pepper and garlic.
Rub over tenderloin. Place ½ cup water in slow cooker; place tenderloin in slow cooker.
Cook on low for 8 hours
Mix together the ingredients for the glaze in a small sauce pan: brown sugar, cornstarch, balsamic vinegar, water, soy sauce.
Heat over medium and stir until mixture thickens, about 4 minutes.
Remove roast from crockpot, place on foil lined sheet pan and brush with glaze.
Set under broiler for about 2 minutes until bubbly and carmelized.
Serve with remaining glaze on the side.

  1. Looks delicious and I bet it smelled great cooking.

I saw on Shark Tank last night that Meijer will be selling Banza beginning in Sept. It is a wheat/gluten free pasta made with chickpeas!

  8. Scrumptious. Wow. Say "balsamic" "brown sugar" and "pork tenderloin" in one sentence and I am SO IN. I'm sending TG to the meat market for pork tenderloin at the earliest opportunity. Sounds like Sunday lunch to me! xoxo

  15. Mari, I love to make pork tenderloin in the crockpot. Thanks for the suggestion on putting it under the broiler.

Have you heard of crockpot liners?
They are a bit pricey, but if you don't use your crockpot a lot their worth it.
    Sure makes for easier clean-up.
