Here's a few pictures from my area that show that Fall is really here.
.
The pumpkin fields are being harvested. I love seeing all those pumpkins in the field, flanked by stacks of crates.
These are Fall crocus in our back yard. They send up a few green leaves in the Spring and then die back. All Summer long nothing is visible, but in the Fall there's an explosion of color. Crocus are beautiful in Spring and Fall.
I hope you're enjoying the signs of Fall in your area.
Pumpkins patches are just so cute. I think we all love them from Charlie Brown! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever heard of a fall crocus!
Well, unlike Betsy thinking of Charlie Brown, my thought always goes to Sleepy Hollow. Bring on Autumn!! I'm so ready for it. And again, unlike you Mari, I LOVE winters down here. LOL
ReplyDeleteOh yes, the scents of Autumn just can't be compared to anything else. The crocus is pretty.
I've never seen a Pumpkin patch, but now know where that name come from for the retail chain of children's clothes shops.
ReplyDeleteI'm not ready for autumn at all, no, no. My mother was talking about booking Christmas day lunch at the restaurant and asking what time I wanted it. I said "It's September!!".
i'm loving these cooler temps - so many fun things about fall! (and I can't wait for what's to come!)
ReplyDeleteI am SO happy we're here to see at least part of the color change of fall :) It isn't something we really experience in Argentina since where we live us a temperate climate; we get a bit of yellow and a tiny bit of red but never much, and NO ORANGE AT ALL :( Plus the pumpkins there are a different variety and instead of orange, they are green. Just not the same! So I am soaking up all the glorious colors while I can!
ReplyDeleteI love fall and all that goes with it...sights, smells, feelings.
ReplyDeleteI need to get some fall flowers on my front porch soon too!
ReplyDeleteBoth photos are beautiful. How I love this time of the year. I do dread winter though!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. When I took the dog out at 5:30 this morning, it was 32* it has since warmed up to a balmy 39! (lol)--I bet that made you smile, have a blessed day.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a fall crocus before, that was interesting.
ReplyDeleteas always, love your pictures.
ReplyDeletesince we're built into the side of a hill, my house is downright cold already - despite the 80* temps outside during the day.
The field of pumpkins is amazing, but I absolutely LOVE the purple crocus!! I miss apple orchards. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful time of year. I love it too, so much. We're having the most gorgeous weather. I know you dread the winter and I don't blame you. You should winter in South Carolina. :~D
ReplyDeleteI always have trouble welcoming Fall too, so I know how you feel. Your photos are BEAUTIFUL!!
