The week went by much too quickly and before we knew it, the time had come to head back home. We had said our good-byes to Andy the night before as we planned to leave early in the morning. Saying good bye wasn't as hard as usual, because we would be seeing him again soon. He had to finish de-briefing and then would be coming home on leave.
When we left our hotel at 6 in the morning, we saw this flag with a little mist on the ground. However, when we got on the highway, we found thick fog. The visibility was awful; the fog hung in there all the way through Kentucky and part way into Indiana. We were really glad when it finally cleared. Heather checked with someone at home who told us it was a beautiful, sunshiny day. We drove all day, stopping to pick up Andy's repaired jeep.
When we got closer to home, we found that the sunshiny day was gone and snow was falling!
