Christmas project

I have to show you the project I've been working on this past week. I saw the instructions for it on Pinterest, and thought it would be great for gifts for the nurses aides I work with.

What can you do with a washer, a bead, some cord and scrapbook paper?

Cut the scrapbook paper to shape, glue it to the washer, sand the edges and put a glaze over it.
Then string the cord through it, add a bead and you have a necklace!

I think they turned out pretty cute. Hope the aides like them too!

That's a neat idea. When you have have a majority of the "same" people to buy for, gifts like that work so great. Not only are they inexpensive, but they show that you actually spent time making them. It's the thought that counts.

Mari - I love this! I've been contemplating trying to make my own hand stamped jewelry but just don't want to commit to the tools needed. This is a perfect compromise! The same look but no stamping!

Now THAT's my kind of craft! Simple and absolutely great-looking...

(How could I mess it up????)

Merry Christmas, Mari!

Yes, I made one for Grace. They're super easy and do make such neat gifts. I made hers last year and it's held up quite well.

What kind of glaze do you use? I'm varnish-impaired.
