I was at work on Tuesday, when I got one of those calls you hate to get. It was Heather.
"Mom, I was in an accident. I'm ok, but my car is in bad shape."
She was on her way to a Dr appt, and as she approached a green light, she realized that a van was going to go right through the red light. She tried to stop, but it was to late and she hit him.
There happened to be a police officer at a store on the corner who saw it and was able to be a witness that she wasn't at fault, so that was a real blessing. Of course, the biggest blessing was that she wasn't injured other than some bumps and bruises!
After work, we went to the body shop to look at her poor little car.

As you can see, both air bags went off. We are waiting to hear from the insurance company, but are thinking it will be totaled. It's been a really good car and is paid for, so we're sorry to see it go, if that's what happens. But, as our daughter Laura said - "we can replace a car, but I don't think we can find another Heather!"
GLad everyone was ok, but bummer about the car!
ReplyDeleteSo glad she wasn't hurt... I saw her at work today and she was normal as ever!!!
ReplyDeleteI remember having to make that dreaded phone call to my parents. I was ok...unfortunately the old lady had to be taken to the hospital...and it was me who ran the red light. ugh. Glad your Heather can't be replaced and is ok. :o)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad she is ok...and you are too. Scary when those calls come in.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking from experience, if she has an inkling of whiplash I suggest she get in right away to a Chiropractor.
i am so glad she is safe! Accidents are very scary.
ReplyDeleteYep cars cand be replaced,People cannot. I'm glad that she is OK!!
ReplyDeleteSo scary. Thank you Lord for airbags!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kat
I'm so glad she's fine, Mari. I remember a call like that a few years ago when my daughter learned to drive. Her air bag deployed and cut her eye and lip pretty good but she was okay. God was totally watching out for her!
ReplyDeleteThose kind of calls are the worst :( But thankful she is okay, even if the car isn't.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Heather is ok. I'm not looking forward to one of those calls but with 4 kids it's probably only a matter of time. I'm so thankful it hasn't happen yet.
ReplyDeleteWe been through a few of those scary crashes with our 2 daughters. Never fun, but, yes, cars are replaceable and our kids aren't. Glad Heather is okay.
ReplyDeleteOh no...thank God she is ok and not hurt! That must have been a heart stopping call to receive Mari! I'm so glad a police officer was there too, that will save you a bit of trouble perhaps!
ReplyDeleteGod bless and have a great weekend!
I am so thankful that she wasn't hurt too badly. The car looks pretty bad!
ReplyDeletegonna give my family an extra hug tonight.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad she's okay. It seems like just yesterday she was in that other accident! Laura had some wise words.
ReplyDeleteOh my, Mari, where have I been? I just saw this today and had to let you know how thankful I am that Heather is alright. I believe God must have been looking out for her, don't you?
ReplyDeleteI, too, am thankful that Heather escaped without injury.
ReplyDeleteBy any chance, was the other car orange?
Glad she is o.k.!!! I agree-another car? Yes. Another Heather??? NO way!
ReplyDeleteWow! That poor little car did take a beat'n. I hope Heather is feeling better by now. :) That was really fortunate that the police officer saw what happened.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about her accident but glad that she is okay.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Marie
I've always wondered what air bags looked like! Did Heather's deflate a bit? SO thankful she is safe and trusting for a good outcome for you all with insurance, repair/replacement, etc.
ReplyDeleteSo glad she's O.K.
ReplyDeleteOh Mari, I'm glad that she's ok and that a police man was a witness and saw that it was in no way her fault.
ReplyDeletesorry to hear about the accedent the good is that your daughter is ok. take care rose
ReplyDeleteI seem to remember your Heather was in a wee accident a few years ago! That poor child! People trying to beat traffic lights are such a menace. Thank God she is unhurt and that the law saw it all. When you think of what might've happened, it makes you shudder. Everybody needs to SLOW DOWN!
ReplyDeleteThank the Lord Heather is OK...I HATE the sound of crunching metal from car accidents...You are so right, Heather is irreplaceable....
ReplyDeleteHugs to you all.
Oh my goodness!!!! Mari, this sent chills up my arms!!! Yes, yes, indeed. You can replace a car, but NOT Heather. Luckily she's okay. Wow. Scary.
