My friend Kat over at Heart 2 Heart did a post on the top 10 reasons she likes Fall and challenged us to come up with our own list.
I do like Fall, but often get caught up in my dread of the snow and cold that is coming and don't appreciate the season while it is here. So, this is a good one for me to do as it makes me appreciate the moment!

1. Fall in Grand Rapids means Artprize. This contest just got done, but our whole area gets into it and enjoys seeing all that wonderful art!
2. I love the smells of Fall - the smell of burning leaves, the scents of the Fall candles, the smell of the pine needles that collect around the trees.

3. Grand Haven is beautiful in the summer, but it has another type of beauty in the Fall. The pier which was filled with people during the hot summer is now empty and so much easier to wander around on.
4. I love wearing jeans and sweaters.

5. I love seeing the changes in the fields. Seeing them full of pumpkins and seeing the corn and hay get harvested is great!
6. I love Fall decor - pumpkins, corn stalks, mums, along with the golds oranges and browns of Fall are so homey and comfortable.

7. Fall mornings are so pretty. There is often some fog in the air, which adds such a soft glow to the sunshine.
8. Apples! It's great to have fresh apples again.
9. Cooler temperatures are wonderful. I know I will soon be complaining about being cold, but after the hot, humid summer, it's great to have some cool days.

I love fall for so many of the same reasons. The colors and crispness of the season are wonderful. Of course, I would love to visit Grand Rapids to see that art show! Sounds like fun :)
ReplyDeleteAutumn is my favorite! Too many reasons to name.
ReplyDeleteI love fall too! My favorite is the cooler weather. I live in the south and it is not near as humid in the fall! I can breathe so much better! I enjoyed reading your blog tonight!!
ReplyDeleteI agree. I do enjoy fall after a really hot summer. I'm thankful that we have the four seasons to enjoy, tho' I do tend to get a little crabby come February.
ReplyDeleteLovely pics. Fall is refreshing and crisp and crunchy and tastes like homemade soup and pumpkin donuts from Post Family Farm. I love it too!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you! I especially love your last sentence - each season's uniqueness for our pleasure!
ReplyDeleteSo many reasons to love Fall!!! Great photos too Mari.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kat
I love Fall for some of the same reasons. I love the colors. I'm so excited that now that I'm in Oregon, I'm going to be able to see the colors even more brilliantly. I also love the smell in the air and most of all caramel apples.
ReplyDeleteI love Fall for many of the same reasons you mentioned! This time of year just makes people happy!
ReplyDeleteI love wearing sweaters too!
All the reasons I love Fall too! Yesterday I heard it rain leaves! What a wonderful sound!
ReplyDeleteMari, you hit on some of the same reasons I love Fall....I think just the change in seasons is always exciting about the potential they bring.....
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your list, Mari. I used to hate fall just because of the impending cold and dreary months following, but now I love it for all of the reasons you mentioned - except we don't have a cool art show here.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, by the way!
I too used to think of the coming winter while in the midst of fall...no more. I will enjoy each and every day of a beautiful season.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are all all so great, there is so much beauty around us, if we just take time to notice...and give thanks!
I prefer summer, but, reading you (and with my camera), I really like Fall as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this beautiful post.
I agree with you on so many but I really like #10.

ReplyDeletei can't wait to break out the fall wardrobe - its like getting a closet full of brand new stuff! :)
ReplyDeleteFall is such a pretty time of year...altho, our season doesn't really begin to show until late November...the trees turn then. At least on the coast...up north into Texas a bit, they will turn in late October.
ReplyDeleteFabulous photos.
I love all those things too, Mari! Great pictures. This is my FAVORITE season. Loving every minute...
ReplyDeleteFall is a great time of year and your post is awesome!
