Here's the latest!

Yesterday I told you I would show you what Bob just finished making.
He finished the last piece of our bedroom suite. Before I show it to you, I'll share the pieces he finished before. This is all made of oak, and several pieces were made with wood from trees that were on my uncles land. He spent many years hunting on this same land so it adds to the sentimental value.

The bed was the first thing he finished.

This is his nightstand.

And this one is mine. I asked for one with a door, because I seem to collect a lot of stuff!

Bob uses this armoire for his clothes.

And this is what he just finished:
This is my dresser! It's beautiful and has good drawer glides so the drawers open and close easily. I really like the 4 small drawers across the top.

He added a nice surprise for me in one of them:
Isn't this great for my jewelry? The top section slides across the bottom part for ease of getting things out.
I love it!

  21. Truly a treasure! (Make sure the story of the set is taped SOMEwhere in a drawer or something for future generations. And have Bob sign & date the dresser, etc.)

This is an heirloom and (if Jesus doesn't return), I'm sure it will be appreciated throughout the generations.

    His work is topnotch.
You will cherish that for years and years. I know that the furniture that my hubs makes means so much more than if you buy it somewhere.
My hubs like to work with oak also.
Thanks for sharing those priceless pieces.

  23. Bob is so gifted with wood. He wittles beautifully and makes such wonderful furniture. I'm sure it means all of the more because he made it and the wood he used.

My dad has made quite a few pieces for my mom - their headboard, end tables for the BR and the LR, etc. I'll have to show him Bob's work!

You'll enjoy this for many years to come and then, think of it ... it will be passed down to your children and grandchildren (when you have them ... and I pray it's soon!) ... and that's just so wonderful! LOVE the jewelry drawers. So practical.
