My recipe for today is for egg salad. Usually when I make it I just throw it together, but when I want to make a big batch, or something a little better than my usual, I use this recipe. I got this recipe from an older Dutch lady that went to our church when I was growing up. She had a big family and she said her boys liked this! We do too!
Thats simple enough but sounds really good.

Oh Mari Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteYou are a woman after my own heart. I SO love egg salad sandwiches. Growing up, with not a lot of money in our family, this was one we ate a lot of, and I still love egg salad. I have never tried it with bacon added though and I am just certain that flavor must be the best. I am going to give it a try this weekend. Dear husband and I love it on a lettuce bed for salad with no bread too.
Thanks for the wonderful share sweet friend. I pray you are well. I think of you often. Work has kept me hopping, and I try to hit a few blogs when I am able, but when I get home, I have been having to keep my legs elevated. This paniculitis is giving me fits, and making the circulation not to good in my legs right now. We are working on it, but as I do not have a laptop, I haven't gotten to make the rounds that I usually do.
Thinking of you and loving you sweet friend of mine. Many hugs and much love, Sherry
Yummy picture!! We love egg salad at our house too and I've always used celery and green onion - much like yours! Just thinking here that if I didn't have the bacon to fry up first, then I could use the real bacon bits one can buy already fried. Last time I even added just a touch of some dijon mustard, and an herbal seasoning. One time I used chopped radishes in it for something crunchy as I didn't have celery. I enjoyed that as well.
ReplyDeleteYum! Adding bacon sounds really good. I usually only add mayo and some sweet pickle relish to mine. I'll have to give this recipe a try soon. Thanks.

Yummy! I love egg salad!
ReplyDeleteThat looks good. I never would have thought of adding bacon to it.
ReplyDeleteMmmmmmm, good!
ReplyDeleteLove egg salad. I don't put onions in mine, but wouldn't mind adding them, but...bacon? Oh my, that's got my name all over it!
ReplyDeleteNever liked egg salad. The night I had Alicia I was starving right after she was born (what else is new). The nurse asked what I would like and I said anything. She brought me an egg salad sandwich and it was delish. I have loved it ever since, but have never made it. Leave it to you to teach me how. Thanks! No bacon though ;)
ReplyDeleteGotta love those little old Dutch ladies! :)
