Yesterday we had a car show at the nursing home I work at. There is an antique car club that comes every year for this and our residents really enjoy it.
There are cars of various ages and the residents remember driving some of them. There are always smiles as they look around at them.
These cars are all in pristine condition and I enjoyed them too. I thought I would share a few of them with you.

Oh Mari Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteWhat fun for the residents there. I just know they had fun remembering when, many years ago. How nice of the people to hold this there for them.
I love the rumble seat car most of all. My Great Uncle had one, and I can still see some of the family riding in the back when he drove it in parades. He has long since passed away, and you know I have no idea what happened to that car.
These are pristine and so much fun to see. That you sweet friend for sharing with me tonight. I so love it that you did.
Are we up for a road trip? You think anyone would miss one?
Many hugs and so much love, Sherry
Mari,Thank you for taking me along with you to the car show.I really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteHi Mari!
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time. I'm so glad I can visit tonight.
I bet the cars brought back a lot of memories for your friends from back in the day.
My uncle has one that he restored and like to drive around our little town showing it off. Funny.
Have a great weekend.
WOW...what fun!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
andrea
Wouldn't you just love to travel across America in one of these?!! I know I would. And when it's not raining----sit in the 'rumble seat'. My mom always called it the "mother in law seat'. LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! It would be great to take one of those for a drive!
ReplyDeleteI remember riding in the rumble seat! Our friends who owned a car like the first picture, lived across a creek. I must have been in the third grade when I went home with my friend every Sunday to spend the day. In order to get across the creek, my friend's dad drove this car through the creek (no bridge) in order to get to the road on the other side. It was so much fun! When the creek was flooded, we had to drive ten miles around to get to their house.
ReplyDeleteOoohhh I love the black one with the strap-on trunk! So shiny. I'll bet the residents could tell you lots of stories of adventures enjoyed in cars just like these. Great pictures too, Mari!
ReplyDeleteI want to be a resident at your place!!! How cool! I LOVE old cars. I'm not really good with makes and models, but I think they're just so stylish!
ReplyDeleteThat is a fun morning. My husband and kids would have loved seeing the antique cars. They had such personality compared to today's vehicles.
ReplyDeletethe blue one (2nd to last) looks like a moonshiner car! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your morning with us.
ReplyDeleteI remember my grandma always called it the mother-in-law, I always thought that funny.
We have gone to several of the car shows when they are in our area.
Have a great weekend.
First of all, if I ever require a nursing home...I put in my request to go to yours!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely for your patients...oh the memories these must bring to mind.
What an absolutely neat idea to hold the car show at the nursing home!
ReplyDeleteNot that I'm a car buff or anything, but I love looking at classic cars. Then again, I love history, and to see something out of the past (like cars) is a real treat.
That is the sweetest thing that they bring the car show to the nursing home. I live it.
ReplyDeleteWhen I'm an old lady at a nursing home I hope they bring a 1951 Ford, a 1957 Chevy, some early 60's Falcons, a 1965 Mustang, and some Rabbits. And at least one big 70's Ford van. Those will bring a smile to my face.
What a great thing to do for the residents. I'm sure they enjoyed seeing these old cars and reminiscing a little bit about their youth.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the pictures.
Jane
A time machine show?
ReplyDeleteVery nice photos. Have a great sunday
Mari,
ReplyDeleteI love the old classic cars. Just the history each of these amazing beauties would be able to share with us if they could speak.
Thank you so much for sharing them all.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
That is really cool! Loved the pictures of the old cars.
ReplyDeleteHey, how do you get that little photobucket box off my page? Sometimes it is there and sometimes it is not.
That sounds like a really fun time! I always thought a rumble seat would be the coolest thing!
ReplyDeleteI would have liked to have heard the stories told about these cars. What a treat for you all! :)
