Works for Me Wednesday

Today's tip is actually more in the lines of a product endorsement.
Do any of you have a rice cooker? I was interested in them, but wasn't sure if it was worth it to have another small appliance around. I did put it on my Christmas list and got one for Christmas and have found I love it! The rice cooks quickly, 20-30 minutes. It never turns out sticky as it often did on the stovetop and I don't have to watch it. Once it's done it goes to a warm mode and waits for me! It saves me money too, because I used to buy quick cooking rice and don't have to do that anymore.
I got this from my sister Terri, who was happy to hear how well it worked because it was an add on gift, and she said she didn't pay much for it.
This week, the same rice cooker is on sale at Walgreens, for a bargain price!

Here is the picture from the flier:

It's a 3 cup Rice Cooker and is on sale for $7.99. If you have ever considered getting one - this is the time.
It really does work for me!

Oh Mari Sweetie...
What a bargain. I will have to check it out. DH and I love rice with brown gravy. So yummy.

Sure sounds like a whopping deal too. I am like you, usually a little skeptical, so knowing someone that has one, makes it worth it.

I'll keep you posted sweetie. Have a beautiful evening. Happy St. Patty's Day for tomorrow.

Country hugs sweetie...Sherry

Guess I will be making a trip to Walgreens. I have wanted one of those, but never bought one. At that price it is well worth the money. Thanks for the tip.

Hmmmm, sticky rice is delicious. I ate that all the time in Korea.

I don't have one and I've always wondered. Of course we have a Walgreen's on every corner there is not a CVS or Rite Aid. It shouldn't be hard to find one! Actually, the closest one is roughly two miles from my house. It may be time to get one (do you think it will make enough for all six of us?).

Hi Mari,
I've wondered about rice cookers but never actually knew anyone who had one.
One question, how does it do with brown and/or wild rices?
That is a good price!

Okay Mari, I had to stop by and say Hi this morning because I've been following you around the blogosphere this morning. LOL! And I'm glad I did because I've always wanted a rice cooker but wasn't sure if it was worth having another bulking counter appliance. But I think it will now be going on MY wish list.

Have a fabulous day and I'm sure I"ll be following you around tomorrow.
Hugs
Kim

We buy rice in fifty pound bags (no lie). So we eat tons of rice and it's often sticky or burnt, thanks to my many distractions.

I just never thought about buying a rice cooker. So I'm glad you shared. I think I might give this a try.

I'm so glad you like it. I'm considering one myself now that I know you like yours!

I love love love my rice cooker. My first one bit the dust before Christmas so my oldest daughter bought me a little one -- it makes a nice amount of rice.
I heartily agree, buy one at that great price!

After reading this I went to Walgreens and picked up a rice cooker for my daughter. She enjoys brown rice and as she is busy all day at work, this will be an easy way for her to make her rice in the evening. Thanks so much for the good info, Mari!
