Works for Me Wednesday

Do you ever make appointments months in advance? In my case, it's the dentist appointment which are made 9 months in advance. I tuck the reminder card in my purse and then write it on the calender when I get home. However - it may be for the next year and I don't have a calender for that year yet. I've been known to forget about it, until I get a call that I have an appointment the next day and am most likely working, so have to reschedule.
To avoid that, I've started to tape those little reminder cards to the back of my calender. Then, when I start a new year and a new calender, I transfer them over. No more surprises!

  3. What a great idea!

(I solved that problem by adding a blank page in my planner after December called "Notes to Myself for the New Year.")

  4. Well, I'll be darned. That's a lot better than what I've done. I have been known to write all over the December calender with stuff I need to remember in the next year...I really LIKE your idea much better.

  5. Yes, I have done this, too.
Something my husband has taught me to do is to use the calendar feature on Microsoft Outlook - my email program. Since I use my computer several times daily, this is a good thing for me.
Alerts show up on the side a couple of weeks in advance and the "alarm" pops a window up right in the middle of the screen for me.
I especially use it to remind me to pray for specific requests.

  6. This is a FABULOUS idea. Maybe I'll even tape an envelope back there for just this purpose! And I'm laughing, because MY hubby trained me on Outlook, too!

  11. What a good idea. Just this evening I came home to find a note for a yearly doctors appointment in a couple days which of course was made a year ago. I so feel like canceling which means I have to adopt one of these methods. Probably the outlook since I am online a lot.
thanks anyway, they're all great ideas.

    blessed day

  12. Good idea! We've started keeping a current calendar and then a year in advance one next to it on the wall in the kitchen. That was working great until a child "borrowed" the new one and now it's lost!

  13. I do a similar thing. I tuck them in my calendar or write the dates on the back page to be transferred.
