The lovely Sandra is hosting Cooking Thursday again. Go see her for more great recipes!
My recipe for today is Chocolate Chip Cookies. I know there are lots of recipes for Chocolate Chip Cookies, but I still wanted to share this one, because they are a favorite at our church. The lady who makes these is known for these cookies and they always get a good price when she makes them for the annual youth auction. The recipe is actually her Grandma's, so it has stood the test of time! These cookies are a lighter and crispier type of cookie.
Joanie's Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 sticks margarine or butter
1 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
4 cups flour
2 - 12 ounce pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips
Combine sugars and butter and cream well. Add oil, egg, vanilla and milk. Mix together. Add salt, soda, and flour and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoons on cookie sheet or warm baking stone. Bake at 350 degrees for 17 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
Yummy,yummy in my tummy!

ReplyDeleteFunny, I just made a double batch of chocolate chip cookies for a community outreach. We fix trays of cookies at church and then distribute them to teachers workrooms and different business around town. It's a spring thing we do.
ReplyDeleteGod bless and have yourself a fantastic day sweet Mari!!!
I have been craving these cookies! It's still too hot to turn on the oven but it won't be long until I'll be in cookie baking, soup making mode :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope your afternoon is going well. Ironing and washing is the order of the day for me.
ReplyDeleteThose cookies look wonderful. I was wondering how much different this recipe is from the one on the Nestles package. Whatever the case, these look fantastic.
Don't ask if I would walk over broken glass for one...lol I just might!

ReplyDeleteA diet makes you do crazy things. I just hope a girlscout doesn't show up on my doorstep.
Oh those look good, if I wasn't so full right now from dinner I might have made them, but I think I'll save it for tomorrow LOL
ReplyDeleteChocolate chip cookies are a favorite at our house. I was really glad to see you didn't mess them up by putting nuts in them. :)
ReplyDeleteThey look delish Mari! I'll give this recipe a try and report back. Thanks for sharing it with us.
