I thought today I would take you on a little tour of what Fall looks like in West Michigan. The colors vary a lot from one area to the next.
This tree lined road is about 15 minutes from our house. The trees were somewhat yellow, but nothing compared to this:
This was taken in a park about 10 minutes away, where almost all the trees were this brilliant gold.
~~~
Just a few minutes from my house, on the edge of a field is this pretty display of reds and oranges.
~~~
This is what my street is looking like!
~~~
In my back yard is this hardy geranium. I was surprised to see the colors of the leaves.
~~~
Even the decorative grasses in our yard are showing some color!
~~~
And when I take a walk, I'm enjoying all the colorful leaves crunching underfoot!
It's wonderful to see God's handiwork!
Great photos.you got some grand colors there.
ReplyDeletei loved the one where the red, yellow, orange trees were tucked in with the tall green ones. God is so cool!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, beautiful area of the state you live in. There is so much to see, I actually feel bad for those parts of the state I haven't been to. It's a goal I want to work to achieve!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are awesome!
Oh lucky, lucky you. The early snow here killed our trees. The leaves are mostly brown -- or on the streets.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. The trees are just beginning to turn here in Richmond, Virginia. I love autumn and all the colors GOD paints across the landscape.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, andrea
That geranium is very interesting. I would have never expected that. But I'm also not much of a green thumb.
ReplyDeleteOur trees are much like these with lots of variety from place to place as you drive down the roads, or look out our back window even. The higher winds today blew quite a few off though.
Ohhhhhhhhhhh, just a lovely easel of colors that He painted for you this year. It's glorious.
ReplyDeleteIt is simply beautiful Mari...I miss having a FALL season and all the beautiful scenery that God sends our way that time of year.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing...love it!
xoxo,
Melissa
As usual your pictures are stunning! I wish we had more color in South Carolina but alas we're mostly evergreens! The northern hardwoods turn such brilliant hues! I miss seeing that each fall.
ReplyDeleteIt is so beautiful here. I agree - the colors are just amazing!!
ReplyDeleteStunning! Always love your pictures. I love fall colors.
ReplyDeleteOh my, oh my, how beautiful. I have been trying to get out of the yard all day to take some Florida Fall shots. Is it fall? Thanks
ReplyDeleteDear Mari,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely Fall post! I have been to other blogs as well where there are fall pictures posted. You are right, there is a variety of colors even just within one country.
The only place I've ever been to in Michigan is your Metropolitan airport, which was my point of entry upon my arrival in the US... but even the airport was something! I needed to board a tram to get to my departure gate!
Hopefully someday I'll get to visit your place.
The reason why I do not want to have too many blog friends is that each of the ones I have now are so special. It is so easy to make blog friendships, compared to real life. I guess Christian bloggers have many things in common -- one of them being the willingness to be open and transparent, and the other thing is the desire to be a prayer partner whenever possible.
So, our friendships in this medium grow deeper and faster, because it is watered by honesty and kindness.
Thank you for being a friend. I do need prayers not only at this time, but always! Thank you for listening to the Lord to pray for me when you did. I truly appreciate it.
Will try some of your slow cooking recipes and let you know how they turn out.
Happy Fall in Michigan!
Love
Lidj
Beautiful pictures. Our leaves are just coming to peak but they are not near as pretty as yours. Fall is my favorite time of the year!!
ReplyDeleteYou do have a nice set of colorful photos to share.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for your visit.
Gorgeous photos! I really miss the autumn colors so thanks for sharing yours :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your street...the colors are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for taking us along on the tour of western Michigan. The scenery was beautiful and even breath taking! You certainly do live in a beautiful state. Alan said the other day that he would like to take me to Michigan to see my friends. I know that it would be a beautiful trip.
ReplyDeleteI was driving down 40th yesterday and it was like a tunnel of color. I thought I really should video it and show my TX kids. It's amazing right now! Every year I'm in awe of the hill in the muck field by my house. I remember looking at it every day when we were in jr high and thinking how beautiful it was...I still think that every year. We are so blessed this time of year in our beautiful state. No one can ever say our state is not gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteMari,
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful! Over here on the East side we are having a heat wave expected 85 degrees today, hot & sunny, hee, hee!
Cathy
Mari,
ReplyDeleteMichigan looks very much like southern Ontario in autumn. Your photos are very pretty. Enjoy the season.
Blessings,
Mary
Such beautiful pictures, Mari! We, too, are enjoying a beautiful autumn. I especially liked the grasses. My husband would like to have some in our flower beds. Our local extension gardens feature many different kinds and he admires them each time we stroll through them.
ReplyDeleteLovely. Fall is my favorite season. I was just telling Patrick how thankful I am to live in a place that has all four seasons.
ReplyDeleteI was seeing all the lovely colors in the trees lately too, but every time I have I don't have my camera with me so I can not show you, but thank-you for showing me yours!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll get some good pictures some time for you to see...The last couple days though the weather has been quite rainy...Wet Fall Leaves are quite muddy looking :/
I love seeing all the colors! There's been alot of yellow this year!
ReplyDeleteI love the bright red and orange color. Most of the trees at our new place are bright yellow.
