I always know it's getting close to Christmas when I go to the mall and am hit by the wonderful smell of sugared almonds roasting. I've just found a recipe for them that can be made in the crockpot. I haven't tried them yet, but they sound good and are easy to do. I think this would make a nice treat for the season!
Sugared Almonds
16 ounces shelled almonds
1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
In a slow cooker, stir the almonds and butter together until well blended. Add the confectioners' sugar, stirring to coat walnuts evenly. Cover and cook on high for 30 minutes. Reduce the heat to low and cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the nuts are coated with a crisp glaze, about 2 hours.

Transfer the nuts to a serving bowl. In a small bowl, combine the spices and sift them over the nuts, stirring to coat evenly. Cool the nuts completely before serving.
that sounds just yummy.
