Tuesday was a beautiful day. Here is a view of my road, showing you how the colors are changing. Today was the day of Jan's funeral and we were blessed with sunny skies and a beautiful drive to the church and cemetery with trees changing colors all around us.
Jan had helped plan this service so she had picked out verses that were special to her, and she had chosen songs. The message portrayed her well and showed her testimony of faith. One of the pastors said that although she knew death was near, when he left she would say "God is good". She was the same when I was with her. She didn't question why this was happening to her but trusted in God's plan for her and her family.
There were many friends and family at both the visitation and the funeral, and we are all able to be assured that Jan is in Heaven and all is well.
God is good!
AMEN!

Today was a beautiful day, and I'm thankful that it was for your family. I'll continue to pray in the coming days as things wind down.
ReplyDeleteI will continue to lift your families up to our Lord for peace and comfort.
ReplyDeleteMari,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it was a nice day for Jan's funeral. I will continue to pray for her family.

ReplyDeleteHugs and lots of love,

it WAS a beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteGod is good! Sometimes in our feeble minds we cannot understand that, but if not for His great love!
ReplyDeleteA georgeous day- but an even better day in Heaven. Jan's family was on my heart this morning during my prayer time. I pray everyone is doing well
ReplyDeleteIt was a beautiful day and I was so happy for that for you all.
ReplyDeleteWe're praying especially now as life returns to normal for everyone else but not them.
As beautiful as that picture is, Jan is walking on streets of Gold! The best day on earth will never compare to what we will have in heaven....makes me happy with anticipation!
ReplyDeleteWhat a testimony she had. How beautiful when even in death, a Christian can be a great witness. We have wonderful things to look forward to when we die.
ReplyDeleteIt was a gorgeous day. I'm sure Jan is experiencing the ultimate beauty of heaven.
ReplyDeleteMy mother in law was a lot like Jan...she too had peace with her death which in turn gave us the strength to be there for her completely and the peace to know she was going to a better place.
ReplyDeleteMari, I am so glad that you had beautiful weather in Michigan yesterday. It seemed symbolic of Jan's life. . . just beautiful and serene.
ReplyDeleteI am sure that the world marvels at the peace that Jan experienced because she was a child of God and she was just going home. That is not the way it is when people do not have hope of heaven.
Like Cheri said, life will return to normal, but not to her family. She will always be missed. May the Lord give them comfort in the days ahead.
i love how God can remind us of his faithfulness thru a ray of sunshine...in more way than another!!
ReplyDeleteOh Mari, I'm so sorry! I didn't know what you were going through. This photo is amazing and so peaceful...
ReplyDelete...I'm just imagining the peace Jan is feeling right now...

Sandra
