Johnny's Drive In

I have to tell you all about something fun we did Wednesday night. Every fall our youth group from church has a drive in supper as a fund raiser. It's called Johnny's Drive In, in honor of one of our old pastors. They serve hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, root beer floats, lemonade... They do the grilling just outside church and set up the parking lot as a drive in. Some of the girls wear poodle skirts and they wear their roller blades. There is 50's music playing to add to the ambiance. There are often people who come in their old cars which are always fun to see. It's a lot of work for the leaders, but the kids have fun with this and they usually raise quite a bit of money for the year. This year the weather was beautiful - just right for a night like this. I am upset with myself for forgetting my camera, as I planned to have pictures to show you!

  2. That was fun! Mike was able to go this year too since he's on first shift now - new experience for him! In my opinion, I think the fries may have been left from the 50s though... but Mike liked them and finished everyone else's! :)
