This week (July 20-26) is National Make Someone Smile Week. I think we probably all miss lots of opportunities to do something nice for others because we are not paying attention. Often it may not be a big deal to you, but may mean a lot to another person. Here are a few ideas I found to make people smile:
- drop a few coins in an area where kids will find them. Do you remember how excited you were when you were a child and you found some coins?
- compliment people who have done a good job or been helpful to you
- send a card or letter to someone you don't see often
- when your child talks to you, give them your full attention
- help someone who looks like they need it - getting something from a high shelf, needing directions, needs help carrying something...
- say thank you when you check out
- hold the door for someone
- tell someone how much you appreciate them
You get the idea! See what you can do this week to spread a smile!

Great ways to help others. I guess we all need to pay more attention to others, isn't that what Jesus did? Yes we need to be more like Him, thanks for the reminder:) Have a Great week:)

ReplyDeleteMy boys love to find coins lying around. You're right about how exciting it is for them. I'm going to try not to be too busy to remember to do some of these things this week.
By the way, it's Louise.
The photo gave me a smile!
ReplyDeleteOne of our sons hates carrying around pennies. As soon as he gets some in his change, he drops them on the way to his car. He says it makes two people happy - him because he doesn't like them and the person who finds them. LOL
Hugs!
Kat

ReplyDeleteGood reminders, and you know what, when I do something good for someone else it always makes me feel good too!
