The Nursing Home I work at has a large Dining room, that has 5 sets of sliding glass doors. These doors look out onto a patio. Every morning there are quite a few residents that are up early and take advantage of the continental breakfast served there. Many of them like to sit and look out at the patio and watch the birds. They often build nests in the pergola that is over part of the patio.

Here is one of the little birds sitting on the pergola.

This year there have been a lot of rabbits in our yard. Many of our residents really enjoy watching them hop around. The other day one of the ladies called me to see 2 baby bunnies close to the window. This is one of them. He didn't seem to be too scared of me, he let me get quite close to take this picture.

This is one of our more unusual visitors. This tree frog was probably only about 1/2 inch long and was sitting by our back door. He's pretty cute for a frog!
That's about all the wildlife we have near us. We used to have deer that came near us in the back, but a development going in that area has stopped the deer. We'll have to be content with birds and bunnies!

ReplyDeleteand frogs Mari, don't forget the frogs! That bunny is so cute! A while back Champ found a nest of bunnies! They were so adorable!
ReplyDeleteDon't you love it when the Lord gives us glimpses of his glorious creativity in the little critters right around us? I especially love His sunrises on a fresh new morning and the birds that visit my feeders!
ReplyDeleteOur visitor has apparently left.
ReplyDeleteOur pigeon that blew in with the storms a few weeks ago hasn't been seen all week.
Halle is pretty sad about it.
Those rabbits are cute but I wanted to whack one yesterday. He chopped off my coleus. He didn't eat it. He just mowed it down. ARGH!
ReplyDeleteI'll take frogs any day. Yours is a cute one!
They're so cute, all of them and yes, the tree frog, that is just weird LOL
ReplyDeleteI miss seeing the deer once in awhile but I think they have moved on to less populated places.
ReplyDeleteOh how fun! I love critters, even the lowly frog :)
ReplyDeleteI've always loved the nursing homes I've visited that had pets around. It just adds so much to the atmosphere & it calms you to watch them for awhile.
Thanks for sharing!
Good old wildlife. Glad the Residents can watch them. I have a Mama deer and triplet fawns for the second year out here. Love seeing the little ones with all their spots.
ReplyDeletesounds like a good morning to me. Sipping coffee and watching nature
ReplyDeleteHow cool of God to bring visitors for them to enjoy-----I imagine for some of the residents the little creatures are the only visitors they receive?
ReplyDeleteGlad the little critters still visit, I remember the deer that used to visit there. Cute pictures:)
ReplyDeleteNow how fun is that!!! we used to have rabbits on our street but someone took them - they were really bunnies! so cute
ReplyDeleteisn't it cool how a tv isn't needed? God provides wholesome entertainment, to amuse the ones who may be shut in ... i love that "real" entertainment! *grin*
