I thought I would give you a little glimpse into my weird family! Last night Laura and Aaron came over to spend some time with Andy before he left. We always end up laughing about something and this night was no exception. I have to give you a little background on the pictures you are about to see.
I am always cold in the winter. In the evening, I usually am sitting with slippers, sweatshirt and a blanket over me. I often complain that my nose is cold. Well - a few years ago Laura came up with something funny to give me for Christmas. She made "nose muffs". You say you have never heard of them? No one else has either! She took fabric, put batting in it and added elastic straps to keep it on the head. She made about 8 of these out of various fabrics, for different occasions or seasons. Of course we laughed like crazy when I got them and I tucked them away because they were so funny. Last night she was talking about a co-worker who always has a cold nose at work and I told her she should give her a nose muff. I got them out and everyone had to try one on. I thought I should take pictures and share with you all, although after this you may not want to associate with me again!

Aaron is wearing the "prison" style. (It has a barb wire pattern and Laura thought I may need it some day)

Finally - here are all four checking out some of Andy's pictures. I thought I would leave you with a little more normal picture of them, in the hopes that I haven't scared you all away!
~~~
We got Andy sent off without any problem, other than the teary eyed Mom and sister! The airport gave us passes to go into the secure area so we were able to sit with him until he boarded. I'm hoping to get a call from him sometime on Wednesday to tell us he arrived. Thanks for your prayers!
Your family is SO much fun. Guess what? I had coffee with Ginger tonight and we were both raving about you! :):)
ReplyDeleteI hope that I will get to meet you sometime!
I LOVE those pictures!!! It shows how much fun ya'll have together! :)
ReplyDeleteYou all have such a weird sense of humor. Ray just told me today that Bob seems so serious. He saw him at the hareware store..Now he's not so sure what to think. LOL
ReplyDeleteOh how hilarious. What a fun family! You know the Prison muff reminded me a bit of Hannibal Lector! So pleased to hear that the airport goodbyes went OK.
ReplyDeleteI love the fun you all have! You are making lots of memories for your family and I think it is great!
ReplyDeleteI am praying for Andy's safe arrival.
Ahhhh yes, I remember the nose muffs well.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are doing well today.
Hopefully you hear from Andy soon.
It will be nice to be able to email him now!
I agree with Nancy's sweet Man. Bob does seem so serious at the harware store. I told him I was naming the beige that I like "Bob's beige" reason being is he created it a little different without using the computer. He is so handy.
ReplyDeleteI love the nose muffs. That is sooooooooo funny! Glad you got Andy off safe and that is cool they let you sit with him till her boarded.
So where is the picture of YOU sporting a fashionable nose muff?
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Andy is headed my way...sorry for you though.....
What a riot!
ReplyDeleteSmiles!
I came over today to tell you I am thinking of and praying for you as Andy travels to and gets adjusted in Korea.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fun post.
Chelle'
Oh yes, the nose muffs. I don't remember them being that large. Could it be that your noses have shrunk?
ReplyDeleteHoping to hear about Andy soon!
Why do I feel that somehow these pictures will become backmail material for Sherri?
ReplyDeleteYour family is just so cute. I love the picture of Bob, hehe.
On another note....praying for all of you as you send off Andy. This mom's heart knows just how you are feeling. We rest secure knowing the Lord is holding him in His grip.
Now see what you've done -- most of us would want to hang out with you guys more. What fun nose muffs.
ReplyDeletePraying for a safe trip for Andy and peace for you all.
Nose Muffs?? That is hilarious! I would definately get a patent for that and start marketing it, my nose is always cold too...and feet! Love the sense of humor!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great family - one I'd feel right at home with!
ReplyDeletePraying for Andy's safe arrival!!
That is just too cute! Thanks for the big smile on my face... Hugs!
ReplyDeleteIts fun to laugh with your family. It sounds like your family has fun - and they all have a good sense of humor. I am sure I would get along great with them!
Oh my goodness that made me laugh! Thanks so much for sharing those. By the way, my nose is always cold and red too. It drives me nuts. Guess I need a nose muff!
ReplyDeleteLOL Mari....you sure you don't need the "prison one" LOL
ReplyDeleteWow - nose muffs - only y'all! I am glad poor Andy got out of there before your weirdness rubs off - that's why this sista lives so far away = but at least you have a muff for every outfit - you do need a black one maybe with sequins!
ReplyDeleteHahahahah- I went to the family section and noticed i FINALLY made it!
ReplyDeleteI love these pics...too funny! Your family seems weird like mine :)
ReplyDelete20+ years ago at Christmas, my Mom's side of the family had a reunion. My grandma made each one of us (their 5 kids + all their offspring) a nightie. Red for the guys (yes they had gowns) & red/white striped for the girls. We then had to go sit on the steps of the house we were staying in for a picture...the family in the next house was spying on us the whole time, kids hiding in the trees & all. It was SO funny & SO embarassing...I just wish I had a pic I could share!
God bless you dearie, thanks for the smiles today:)
I love it - the crazy nose muffs, your crazy family, and the way you were able to stay with Andy till he boarded. Doesn't look like you scared anyone away!!
ReplyDeleteSo creative and funny. And thoughtful! She should patent those. Hope you are doing well this week - been thinking of you!
ReplyDeletevery fun! looks like y'all really enjoy your peeps -- great family fun!
ReplyDeleteI love this! Looks like some of the crazy times I have in my family! Life is too short to be so serious...I say, live to the fullest!
