Works for me Wednesday

For today's Works for me Wednesday I am sharing something I recently discovered. I have used frozen dough before. I've tried the bread dough and the rolls but a few weeks ago I tried this:

This is Rhodes frozen dough - Texas Rolls. They come 24 to a pack and cost $3 and some cents. As the name suggests, they are bigger than the normal size rolls. When done they are the size of small buns. All you have to do is pop them out of the freezer and let them rise in a pan for 3 to 4 hours, then bake them for about 20 minutes. They smell wonderful and taste like homemade.

Here's the finished product. If you want to see what works for some other people, visit Shannon at Rocks in my Dryer.

I'm not much of a bread eater, but these would call my name and then when I answered they'd say "use lots of butter"! They look so good!

  10. Again, I am sitting in my little hole at work debating on wether or not I should send my officer to get me a bite to eat. I have fought off the urge so far, with my attempt to lose 10 lbs...

And then you have to post those delicious looking rolls. You always post the best looking/ sounding food

  11. Those are good - we loved the ones you gave us.

I bought frozen Pillsbury Buttermilk Biscuits this week since I figured when I buy the tubes, I have to make the whole thing and end up throwing half away because they get stale. With the frozen ones, I can make only 2 or 3 at a time and keep the rest frozen, and WOW! They were delicious!

  18. Those rolls look like the rolls they used to serve in my little country school...those were the best in the world. We always got two and I would trade something on my plate for one more...of course that was back in the days when I could eat and eat and eat and never gain an ounce...where oh where did those days go???

I'll be on the lookout for these for sure!

Hope you are having a wonderful day!

  19. Any suggestions for remembering to take them out of the freezer the night before? I always want to use these and then never remember to take them out of the freezer; then they're useless!

  22. Yum! I like the 'Works for Me Wed'. that she hosts. I need to compile a list for all the great ideas and recommendations that I've seen----especially tried and true ones from people I know.

By the way, do you have tried and true freezer meals? I need some recipe ideas for dinners that freeze well and tastes good later too when cooked.
