Movie Recommendation

If you haven't seen this movie, I highly recommend it. Our office manager at work just bought it and has been passing it out to the rest of us to watch. She gave it great reviews, then our administrator told me I had to see it. My co-worker Nancy and her husband watched it next, and also said it was great. We watched it Friday night and were really moved by it.

This movie came out in 2006 and was released to video in 2007 so many of you may have watched it. We didn't because we thought it was another sports movie about winning. It is a sports movie and it is about winning but there is another theme running through it and that is doing your best for God. It was actually made by a church in Georgia, so the fact that it was completed and did so well in the theatre is amazing. The actors are members of the church and took no money for doing it. If you watch it, be sure to check the section on the filming of the movie. Not only will you enjoy the movie, but you will be challenged to do your best for God and praise him regardless of the situation.

You are right, it is so amazing that the church people pulled this one off and who would know that it wasn't Hollywood? They did a great job!

  11. We might have to check that one out. Usually I ignore them if they look like they have anything to do with sports!

  12. Rebekah said what I wanted to say. I ditto her comment.

This should be a call to all Christians to make their mark on film as they did!

  15. You know, I never did see that movie, but I heard that Coach Richt was in it... he coaches our hometeam (Go Dawgs!) and his kids go to the school that I attended. They also go to the church I grew up in. I hear he is a sincere Christian, and a true family man. That is rare these days in the world of athletics.

Plus, everyone thinks he's very cute. ;)

About my mom - I left a comment at my place regarding your comment but I'll answer here, too...
Mom is currently working an extra 12-hour shift each week. It's voluntary, and it's supposed to be temporary (but she said that back before Christmas, too... first it was to help with Christmas and now it is to help with vacation, we both know how that goes. :) )
It's wearing her out, so I told her PLEASE don't sign up again. I don't think she will, though. It's been tough.

Thanks so much for asking about her.

  17. I got this DVD for Christmas because I absolutely love it! We saw it in the theaters I think and I just walked away in awe! Another movie made by the same church (actually before "Facing the Giants") is called "Flywheel". The video store has only one copy and it's out every time I go in there. I want to watch that one too sometime.
