The weekend

Hope you all had a nice weekend! I have to share a bit about my weekend.
On Saturday there was a craft show near us.  This is not your normal craft show - it's huge and people come from all over to go to it.  It's set up in a very large Greenhouse and there were over 250 vendors there, along with lots of food trucks.
I went with my sister and because it's always very busy we got there right away in the morning. When we arrived, the parking lot was already full!

Cars were lined up on the road waiting to turn in.

Look at this line we had to wait in, just to get inside!

The line grew quickly behind us too.

But finally, we made it inside.  There were lots of cute booths - candles, clothing, vintage items, fresh Christmas arrangements and so many other cute items.

We wandered around for about 1 1/2 hours before making our way out.

This is what the road looked like when we left, people still lined up to get in.  It was starting to snow and the roads were getting icy, we passed an accident on our short drive home.

I didn't buy a lot, just a candle and a few little trees to decorate with.  It was fun to look at everything!

I mentioned that it was snowing earlier in the day.  After supper, it really started to come down.

This is what we woke up to on Sunday morning - 11 1/2 inches of snow! Our church was cancelled, along with every other church in the area. The plows were trying to clear things but didn't make it to our area until mid afternoon.

The snow was piled up on everything; these are rain bells that collect rain and then hit each other and chime.  I love the snow piled high on them.

I'm not a fan of cold and snow, but have to admit that it is beautiful.  Unfortunately, we are supposed to be getting more on Monday, so I better get used to it!

  2. Oh my gosh, Mari!! That snow! And those are long lines waiting to get into the craft show. Always fun, though. When you get tired of that white stuff, Avelo comes right to Lakeland from Grand Rapids!! Hint, hint!! :)

  3. How beautiful those snow scenes are but I'm content to see them from a distance. The craft fair looked like fun and I love your little tree for decorating. Keep warm and snug.

We had a little snow here today just enough to make it greasy driving. Many accidents we are in for more snow Tues but not as much as you got!

  6. Such long lines, but it sounds worth it.
    Your snow photos are beautiful!
Waking up to 11½ inches is no joke.

  8. I love the photos of your beautiful shed in the decorated trees. God did a beautiful job decorating all the natural Christmas trees. I stay away from driving in the rain which means no driving in snow. I hope we never see it here. also we have a flea market that gets traffic like this and I stay far away. crowds are not my thing. I do like your little trees you bought. the good thing about not shopping on line, which is me, you can see what it really looks like. In pictures on line they look better than when they come. that is a big advantage when shopping and seeing it.. that is a ton of snow and I LOVE the photo with the steps piled high

  9. Mari...the photos of the snow are absolutely gorgeous. I'm a tad bit jealous that we don't have snow...well we might every 3 or 4 years but it's not enough to last or play in. This event is huge and goodness what a huge success it must be. glad you were able to get in and do a little shopping..

  13. I love the little trees that you got at the craft show...especially the green one. So cute!
The snow is beautiful, but it really looks like a wet snow the way it is weighing on the evergreens. Stay warm and safe, my friend. xx

  20. Well I love the snow, of course I don't have to live in it. It is the perfect decoration for December! The photos are incredible. Wow.

The craft shows sounds nice but no way, would I stand in that long line in the cold, icy weather. I do like what you chose to purchase. I have a thing for trees.

  24. That must be some craft show to have cars lined up like that. We use to do a prim antique show that was like that. You did get lots of snow, unlike us. However we did have a clipper come in last night with a bit more snow. Not like you did though. Janice
