I recently saw a recipe for bread that was so easy to make and I had to try it. It was as easy as promised and turned out great! This makes a dense bread, perfect for sandwiches and toasting. Bob loved it too!
Sandwich Bread
3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 cups warm water
2 teaspoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 packet instant yeast
In a bowl mix the warm water, sugar and yeast. Let set for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
Add flour and salt and stir until combined. Dough will be sticky - that's ok!
Cover and let rise for about an hour or until doubled in size.
Transfer to a greased loaf pan, smooth top and let rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake at 375 degrees for 30-35 until golden brown.
Let cool before slicing. Enjoy!

So easy, and no kneading!!1
ReplyDeleteYour bread looks delicious
ReplyDeleteI must try and make bread and yogurt again This winter. Your recipe looks easy and the bread looks tasty! Have a nice day.
ReplyDeleteLooks yummy, and I can almost smell it baking from here! I think I love the smell of break baking almost as much as eating it warm with butter! But, that's why I don't bake bread...I'd be eating it all the time! LOL.
ReplyDeleteThat looks really delicious. I love baking all of our bread. I'm sure the house smelled heavenly.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Friend, for sharing this recipe. I will give it a go this afternoon. What size loaf pan did you use? 9x5 or 8x4?
ReplyDeleteOh now that looks good! My son Jonathan started homeschooling in fourth grade, and he used to bake bread...it killed me, how can anyone not eat it, hot with butter, and the fragrance of it...I can't make bread unless I know lots of people are coming over because I just cannot resist...that looks like a good recipe to try though! mmmm.
ReplyDeleteI can already smell the freshness in your kitchen from this bread cooking. It does look very good and a fairly easy recipe as well..
ReplyDeleteYum
ReplyDeleteOh that looks so good. I don’t eat much bread - maybe once a week. If I made it, I’d eat and eat and eat because what’s better than warm homemade bread??? I will give it a try for my husband and have a taste.
ReplyDeleteUmmm, this looks so good .... It sounds easy enough for me to make and no kneading either. Like others have said, I will probably eat the whole loaf. Maybe I have to make 2. One for my hubby and one for me. Gotta have it warm with butter, for sure.

Bread is my main staple in my food that I eat daily and it has to be fresh baked no preseratives. I would ask for a few slices but it might be moldy before I got it
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful recipe. I so love homemade bread. Janice
ReplyDeleteThanks for this, Mari!! I'm putting this on my to-do list for tomorrow!! xo
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to be a "bread maker"! :) I can't even make good biscuits. This is the easiest sounding bread recipe I have ever seen so I am going to try it. Thank you Mari. If it turns out looking half as good as yours, I will post it. :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks good Mari.
ReplyDeleteSending good wishes for a Happy Thursday.
All the best Jan
Looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOh, that sounds so good! We have to make everything gluten free since my husband has celiac disease. I wonder if I could use gluten free flour though...I might just try it! Guess what, we have a Monastery here in Rockdale County. They make
ReplyDeletebiscotti and if you go on Tuesday mornings, you can smell it baking. It's heavenly! Sone biscotti is rock hard but theirs is like a soft cloud. Trappist.net. I think if you type that in, it will direct you to their gift shop. You can order it as a gift! I want to tell everybody. It is really good, I promise. The Monastery does not pay me for this either, I am not an ad!! Real person here!!
Looks delicious!! I have so many of your recipes!!! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, this looks awesome...and so easy!! I am definitely trying it!! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAnd you did not need a bread making machine!
ReplyDeleteIt looks very good! And I like that you don't need a long list of ingredients. I looks very doable.
ReplyDeleteThis does look so perfect for sammys! Already copied - thanks for sharing! Still working on perfecting sourdough over here too. I want to not have to buy bread. And I want sourdough discard to make lots of good things. But this sure looks like a keeper too! thanks for sharing Mari 💗
