I'm sharing an overdue post today. This actually happened about 3 weeks ago, but life has been busy and I never shared it.
Every year I take the girls on a day out shopping before school starts.
I let them decide where to go for lunch. It used to always be McDonalds, but they are growing and changing. This year they wanted to go to the food court of a nearby mall where they have the "best french fries and burgers".
Then it was time for shoe shopping. Shoes get harder to find, the older they get! We found some that we were all happy with though.
Here's what we found for Alaina.
The next week I got these sweet thank you's in the mail. You know those hand made cards are the best! I'm so glad I get to spend this time with them, it's a blessing!
What a day really packed full of fun! This is a wonderful tradition. I love the shoes they chose!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun shopping companions. It looks like you all enjoyed the whole day. And those thank notes! Icing on the cake. What cuties.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful, fun tradition! Looks like a fun day with many good memories!
ReplyDeleteVery sweet. Making memories and keeping traditions they will cherish all their lives.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun shopping time. I loved when my grands were younger. It was easier to shop with them. I can still shop easily with my younger grand who just turned 14. But the 15 year old is a bit pickier. She does like it when I take her to the bookstore. Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful time you had with your sweet grand-girls! And I love that they wrote you thank you notes afterwards! That shows that someone is teaching them well! It looks like everyone had a very lovely day and so much fun being together. You are blessed to be able to do that!!
ReplyDeleteThe Girls are growing up MARI. Those fries and burgers look very yummy- I'm getting hungry...good that they found shoes to fit for growing feet. Best Wishes. KEV.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like such a fun day. They are growing up fast! Such lovely young ladies. 💙
ReplyDeleteYour 'before-school-starts-shopping' trips are a highlight for the girls and are memories they will cherish forever!! I love that you do this (and it won't be long before Cassie can join in!). Precious girls and precious times with Grandma!! xo
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness - I remember those days myself. I miss them. The girls are beautiful and look very happy to be with grandma. Love their shoes. Love the thank you notes too!
ReplyDeleteThose girls are blessed to have you! The whole day looks like fun and I'm liking those shoes! The frozen yogurt looks pretty good too!
ReplyDeleteOh man, Alaina looked good in that hat too.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! What sweet granddaughters you have! I take my grandsons shopping at the end of the school year as a reward for doing good in school!
ReplyDeleteWe have been watching these girls grow up through the years, from following your blog and they just get prettier with every new year. How fun, to spend a day with grandma shopping. I just wonderful who had the most fun the girls or grandma :)
ReplyDeleteThose girls are getting so grown up! I could really see it in their faces as they were examining the earrings...and of course they want to eat at the mall now! They remind me of my own girls at that age. You are so lucky you get to share it all with them and they with you!!
ReplyDeleteYou had a nice time with the girls am sure. They looked very happy with their finds.
ReplyDeleteI like the shoes they chose and Alaina suits that hat :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
What a great way to spend the day and those thank you cards are a special bonus.

ReplyDeleteYes, my friend, spending time with those girlies is definitely a blessing! It looks like they definitely had fun with you.
ReplyDeleteThose smiles make my day. And the handmade cards are everything. Love Ruby's Chuck Taylor Converses! That's Dagny to a T ... she's rarely out of hers, haha! Alaina surely can wear a hat! Looks awesome. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI love seeing how your sweet little Girlies are truly becoming young Ladies. And these posts remind me so much of Annie when she was younger and getting ready for school. Love it all - especially the adorable thank you cards! 💗
ReplyDeleteA blessing indeed - 2 adorable blessings!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great day!! Such a special tradition that those girls will talk about for years to come!
