Every Spring we visit a huge greenhouse in our area. It's well known and people come from all over the state to shop there. They have 8 acres under glass, and so many plants! There are flowers, trees, shrubs, vegetables, gardening supplies and decorative items for your yard and garden.
We usually wait till after Mother's Day to visit, because it gets so busy there is no place to park!
Here's a few pictures to show you what it looks like.
Here is a picture from their website that shows it from above. You can see the red entry building in the center, with all the greenhouses behind it.
When you get inside, you can't see from one side to another - just lots of plants!
Here's a few pics of other things that are blooming in our yard right now.
And Alliums - a round purple globe that looks like something from Dr Seuss and is such a fun addition to the garden.
It's a fun time of the year to see things grow up change. Also, Bob is always planting and moving things so it's never the same. This won't be our last trip to the greenhouse this summer!
Hi Mari! That greenhouse looks like a really fun place to shop. Looks like you got some more beautiful flowers and plants for your yard. You have a lovely yard. I always enjoy seeing pictures of it. Have a great week. See you again soon!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen anything like it!! You would have to be very fit to walk the entire thing, and I bet not many can do it. I have never heard of Dwarf Lilac! We lost our Lilac, and this might be a good replacement. The Brunea are so sweet, and I love the color.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a huge place! I think I would need a scooter cart to get around there! Haha! I love your plant choices. It would be hard to decide in a place like that!
ReplyDeleteNow that's what I call a HUGE greenhouse! I would be so overwhelmed that I wouldn't be able to choose anything. Thank you for sharing the picture of the Allium. We were sitting on the porch of a favorite restaurant a few days ago admiring their landscaping. They had a lot of the Allium...this same color...in the frontand we couldn't decide what the name of it was. Now I know...Carroll was right when he said he "thought" that's what it was. xx
ReplyDeleteThat place always makes me go slack-jawed because one, it's unbelievable that there is a NEED for a place with eight acres of plants under glass, hahaa! And two, I would have ZERO idea where to begin! But I like what you and Bon selected and I am especially drawn to the allium plant! Such a gorgeous color. xoxo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I would ever want to leave! Have a great week. Loved all the photo shares.
ReplyDeleteThat place is huge! I can see why it's so popular! I think I would be overwhelmed walking through there! All your flowers are lovely. My lilacs are bloomed and smell wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI’m having heart palpitations just knowing this place exists. The mother of all garden centers! Wow! 🌹
ReplyDeleteWow, that looks like a fantastic greenhouse. I would love to wander through there.
ReplyDeleteI was at four different places yesterday looking for the few plants I was after. I'm sure they could all be found in one location there. Fun selections you made and your photos of what's blooming in your garden are beautiful.
Wow that place is enormous. Biggest I've ever seen. It would take all day looking around there. I guess you can find ANYTHING you want there!!
ReplyDeleteGosh! That Greenhouse is HUGE!
ReplyDeleteI like your purchases and I enjoyed seeing the photographs of your beautiful blooms.
All the best Jan
Oh my gosh! How in the world did you ever decide what to buy. I love the plants you picked out. It would be so much fun to go there.
ReplyDeleteGood golly, that place is huge!! I am still thinking about tomato plants. You reminded me but I'll go to Lowe's to find mine. Your yard always looks magazine beautiful!! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWow! That is some huge greenhouse! I would have a hard time choosing from so many! I bet it was fun to wander around there and see so many beautiful flowers! I love seeing the ones you already have blooming! So beautiful. It is already getting too warm here to go out and tend to flowers...I guess that's why I don't really like to garden that much...just too hot and humid. But I do enjoy beautiful flowers...I just need someone else to tend to them! LOL. Enjoy your springtime beauties. Thank you for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! That greenhouse is huge! We have a couple of greenhouses within about 10 miles of us but nothing as big as that one. I bought flowers for my barrel by the front porch but those are the only ones I've purchased so far. I just got the flower beds all cleaned up so purchasing flowers is next!
ReplyDeleteI think that's the biggest greenhouse I"ve ever seen in my life! What heaven to walk amongst so many lovely flowers and plants. Love what you got and what you have in your gardens. So beautiful! I love that Bob likes to shake it up and change it around too. Lol :)
ReplyDeleteWe have a very big one close to our home too and we drove in front of it and it was so crowded during the bank holidays. We went to a smaller one for our little garden plantations too much people not enough time 😆
ReplyDeleteHoly Cow! This is the greenhouse of my dreams!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing place.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are beautiful. I especially like the allums and those little blue brunea blooms. I haven't heard of those. They are so pretty.
