Like many of you, we have been dealing with smoke from the Canadian wildfires. It astounds me that this smoke is covering such a large portion of the country!
Here's what it looked like last week.
These pictures were taken after 10 in the morning. The haziness is from smoke, not early morning haze.
Then on Friday morning, we had a heavy fog advisory. Here's a few pics from my drive in to work.
And here's the magic. I saw these mushrooms growing outside our office. You can still see a little fog in the distance.
If you look close, I think you can see fairies under the mushrooms!
We are having that haze too I when the skies clear from all the rain we are getting. We have fairies living in our yard too.

Hmmm, maybe they are Toadstools! The smoke looks like this here as well, sometimes a bit worse. Yet I never hear anything on the news about those fires!
ReplyDeleteI hope the smoky skies clear, but I have heard that the fires will be burning up there all summer.
ReplyDeleteThat does look like a little village for fairies!! The smoke is so thick. The folks living right next to those fires must be choking. Over 200 separate fires, I heard.
ReplyDeleteI see the fairies! They are all up in that smoke. I know the air quality is awful and the visibility less than optimal, but I love the drama of that! I do hope it has cleared up some by now though. xoxo
ReplyDeleteWe had that smoke last year. I even put on a face mask when I went out. It really helped. Happy 4th!
ReplyDeleteWow fog and smoke. Not a good combination, especially when driving. I remember my drives along the river in the fog. Once a freighter blew its horn and scared the pants off of me. Those fairies are precious in their environment. Janice
ReplyDeleteLooked like that here too.
ReplyDeleteNice clearing today though, we even saw blue sky. Maybe the wind has changed.
Oh yes...dealing with the same here! And we get the fog warnings too. We were driving back from the Taylor Swift concert and it was late at night and on a highway we could normally drive 70 mph we could only drive 35 just to be able to see the lines in the road. I sure hope the fires can get under control soon. I think of all that poor wildlife and it makes me want to weep.
ReplyDeleteAnd you know I love the magic in the ring of mushrooms. It's common knowledge thats a sign of a fairy party. 😉
It is crazy how far the smoke has spread. Love those mushrooms!
ReplyDeleteSame here and I noticed one particularly bad day you could smell it, too! It seemed to have cleared up a little now but I read the fires could burn all summer long! Poor Canada!
ReplyDeleteOur skies in the Chattanooga, TN area were hazy from the smoke on Thursday. You could smell something was burning too.
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th of July!
It is so sad that Canadian forests are on fire! After the long period of snow you are unlucky to have this heavy fog. I saw fairies under the mushrooms 🍄 !
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th July! ( I can’t leave comments on the post)
ReplyDeleteOh my word! That's a heavy fog! Love the photos though...You be safe up there!
ReplyDeleteHappy Independence Day!
hugs
Donna
Oh, that smoke is awful. I really hope it leaves for good, but I'm afraid it might rear its ugly head every now and then this summer. Boo.
