Last week Bob and I had a little vacation and spent the week in Traverse City, Michigan. We stayed in a cute little cottage we had rented before. We enjoyed it so much that time, that we wanted to do it again. It's on a lake, is peaceful and quiet, and only 10-15 minutes from all that Traverse City has to offer.
Here's a few of the fun things we did while there.
We drove to Leland Michigan, also known as Fishtown. It's the site of an old fishing village, and many of the old buildings remain. I love these old buildings! Some are still used by the fishermen, but many have been changed over to little shops. It's a fun place to wander around.
After we left there, we drove to Northport to visit the Grand Traverse Lighthouse.
I don't want to post too many photos at once, so I'll share a few more tomorrow.
That looks like a great getaway in a fun place. So glad you and Bob could go. I love the message on that flag. So good! See you again soon. Will look forward to more picture!

ReplyDeleteSo glad you got a much deserved break Mari. And when you find the perfect spot, just keep going back. That is why Marvin and I drive down to Gulf Shores every September, barring hurricanes that is. We are going next week if the waters stay calm.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful location. Just perfect!
ReplyDeleteI so could live there, grin. Thanks for sharing. Hey, I bet that area gets a lot of snowfall in the winter, smiles.

ReplyDeleteWhat a precious little village and beautiful! I would an escape there!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful little getaway. I was in Traverse City quite a few years ago now. So quaint and so beautiful. Some parts makes me think of almost Anne of Green Gables with the light houses and bluffs and beautiful waters.
ReplyDeleteCompletely wonderful! I want to go there! xoxo
