The flowers around here have been loving the heat and rain we've had. I just love looking out or walking outside and seeing new blooms and color.
These aren't flowers but I'm sure looking forward to eating them. Some naughty bunnies came in and chewed our tomatoes down, so these got a late start and I might only get these two. But they'll taste good!
We have a lot of Rose of Sharon bushes. They are so loaded with flowers this year that the branches are hanging low.
Here's the Rose Of Sharon flowers - such pretty colors!
Bob just built this cute birdhouse to put in one of the flowerbeds
Hydrangea
Last, but not least, the gate and walkway along the side of the house. I love summer!
Such beautiful flowers, as are the shots you took of them.
ReplyDeleteThe little birdhouse Bob put up is so cute. Does it attract lots of birds?
Your flowers are varied and beautiful. so is your entire yard, so lovely. And what a super birdhouse! you will have to let us know if a bird chooses it. I adore your beautiful gate sitting amidst the hostas and other flowers. It is like out of a fairy tale.
ReplyDeletePretty, pretty, and MORE pretty. That photo of the coneflowers is too notch gorgeous...expertly composed.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning, Mari. I love this part of your yard filled with the Rose of Sharons. It looks like a secret garden, the different varieties are lovely. I once lived in a house with crocosmia in the garden and I just loved it. I also love monarada. The hummers love it too. I have always admired the gate that Bob made and his new bird house is charming. Thank you for sharing the photos and enjoy your day..
ReplyDeleteNaughty naughty bunnies (grin)...I am so glad to know someone loves summer (not me, no surprise, lol). I hope you have a beautiful week, my friend.
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful yard. I can tell two green thumbs live at your house!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and such variety! I have never seen flowers on chives before what a treat to enjoy along with eating them.
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful yard! We had a Rose of Sharon bush at our old house that got loaded with flowers every year! I loved it!
ReplyDeleteI should have put this in the post, but the flowers are all Bob's work. I can't keep a plant alive!
ReplyDeleteYou have so many flowers to enjoy. The Rose of Sharon are beautiful. I planted a row of them along the dirt path but the deer loved them so much the poor things could not grow. Had to dig them up. I love summer too.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBloggers are showing their profusion of flowers! And it brings to mind, that Aug. 1st was Lughnasadh or Lughnasa, a Gaelic festival marking the beginning of the harvest season.
You are certainly seeing "First Harvest" of your lovely flowers!!!
✨🌼✨🌼✨🌼✨🌼✨🌼✨
Your flowers are delightful!! I love your garden gate.
ReplyDeleteBy any chance, would you have had a blog in the past titled Mari's Cottage Notes?
Paradise.
ReplyDeleteThat gateway is my favorite!! Each time I see it I start thinking if there's anywhere we could put one of those around here.
ReplyDeleteWow, you have so many beautiful flowers and truly lovely yard. :-)
ReplyDeleteHello beautiful Mari!
ReplyDeleteYou know how flowers speak to my soul, so loved this post so much! Your flowers and gardens are so lovely. And I'm treasuring these last days of summer too - even though Fall is my fave and is in the air a bit. I promise I'm savoring lazy days of summer yet. 😉
What a beautiful yard you have!
ReplyDeleteVery nice garden! I love the bird house, so cute.
ReplyDeleteAh! You know how the late-summer coneflowers clutch at my heart. And I always love to see that magical gate with the circle on top. Funny you should mention Rose of Sharon and home-grown tomatoes. TG loves Rose of Sharon and as far as I know, they do not grow down south. His parents had them lining their driveway. TG was there last weekend attending the wedding of our niece, and he said they are still there and look the same. Also we don't have land for growing a vegetable garden, but TG loves to grow tomatoes. Several weeks ago he just decided to go ahead and plant some ... at the side of the garage, over where nobody ever goes. And WOW what tomatoes they are! So delicious. We have them every night in our salads. The ones you get at the store don't taste like anything compared to these! But some bunnies were decimating his plants too ... I don't know what he did about it. He may have told me but my brain won't hold it, haahaaa xoxo
