Saturday Bob and I celebrated our 40th anniversary! It's hard for me to believe - it seems like just yesterday we were married, and yet it seems a lifetime.
We've been through hard times, but so many good times and through it all we can see God's hand on our lives. We have 3 kids, 3 more by marriage and our 3 granddaughters - each child and grandchild is another blessing!
After we ate, we took a little memory tour.
We bought this house a few years later. It was on the end of a dead end road, near a park. When we bought it, it was a disaster. There were no kitchen cabinets, one bedroom was purple - ceiling and walls. The person who lived there, left all sorts of stuff behind. We were sure the garbage trucks hated to come, because every week we had more junk for them to haul away. This is where Bob started lots of renovations and by the time we moved out, every room in the house had been done over.
When we moved from here, we had 3 kids. They were 2 years to 8 years old. We wanted to move to the area Bob had grown up in and didn't want to live in town any longer. We moved to the home we currently live in 30 years later!
It was fun to see these places and remember people from those years.
I'm thankful for the 40 years God has given us together!

ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet post! At the time, we think those first few years are hard, but when we look back, we realize how just how precious they really were. Our first home was a mobile home, two bedrooms and very simple, but I remember the pride I took in making it a home.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. I'm so sorry you were so sick. This is a crazy mess. My husband's best friend died of Covid a couple of weeks ago. I'm glad you are feeling better.
