Our girlies stayed overnight this weekend. We picked them up after supper on Friday and came back to our house.
As we were driving, for some reason the girls were talking about bleeding. Ruby asked if I ever got blood on my clothes and I said yes, every once in a while. Then she asked if it ever got on my skin and I said sometimes. Then Alaina piped up - "Gues that's just nurse life, right Grandma?" We had to laugh at that!
We stopped for ice cream at Dairy Queen which tasted good because it was so hot out.
We watched a kids version of Pilgrims Progress which was pretty good. It was about 9:30 and we were going to get them into bed, when Ruby saw a firefly outside the window.
They went to bed about 10 and we never heard a peep from them.
They love Lego's and spent a lot of time on Saturday working on a house.
We also did a fun craft that I will share with you tomorrow.
Then we went to my Dad and stepmoms and had McDonalds with them. Great Grandma slipped them a cookie too.
When we got in the car, Ruby said - Grandma makes the best cookies in the world! Alaina replied - You take a bite and they melt in your mouth! I had to call and tell her abou those rave reviews.
Then it was back home for them. They were happy to be home because their neighbors with a pool are on vacation and told them to come swim, so they were planning a weekend of swimming. Fun times!
What fun you always have with them. And the fireflies...sometimes it is the unplanned spontanious things that mean the most. What a wonderufl lifetime of memories you are making.
ReplyDeleteI adore these photos, Mari. It is heartwarming that they visit with your dad and step mom and so cute that they raved about her cookies! I always look forward to the craft projects you work on, Cassie is growing and changing. They all just light up when they are together. I hope you have a good week. Mildred
ReplyDeleteFun times with the grands! Legos is a hit at our house too! Love seeing the 3 of the girls together! Happy Monday Mari!
ReplyDeleteYou always have the best times with the girls. Looking forward to the craft project.
ReplyDeleteSeeing blood was always a hard view for me. I remember saying, that medical profession (doctor or nurse)won't suit me. It would be interesting to know whether the girls would like to walk in their grandmother's footsteps and become nurses.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it was a perfect weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your posts about the girls....all three of your granddaughters are just precious. And I know your parents love to have them come by.
ReplyDeleteLove watching the girls with the new baby, they are so sweet.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun time was had by all. Happy Monday Mari.
ReplyDeleteThey sure are growing up, aren't they?! They're so cute. I love to see them smile and enjoy themselves. Thanks for brightening my day too.
ReplyDeleteBlessings. xx
Delightful weekend all round.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm sure Grandmom was happy, with the glowing review of her cookies.
Watching fireflies and listening to the night 'singers'.... Perfect way to get ready to sleep.
✨💛✨💛✨💛✨💛✨💛✨
You have the sweetest granddaughters, and they are so lucky to have such wonderful grandparents. I love that you went out to sit in the dark with them to watch the fireflies and listen to the crickets. Times they will never forget.
ReplyDeleteAlways great times with the grandchildren! Looking forward to seeing what crafty thing you all were up to!
ReplyDelete"Guess that's just nurse life, right Grandma?" How sweet :) It's interesting to just be still and listen to children talk among themselves.
ReplyDeleteYour girls are just so sweet and so cute. I love what they said about the cookies. You all had such a great weekend! xo
ReplyDeleteLove this post! Oh through the eyes of kiddos, huh? The endless summer days of fun and fireflies. I just loved imagining it all, the sounds of the frogs and crickets and watching fireflies glow...does it get to be a better summer night than that? And love the nurse comment! Lol They are so precious. 💗
ReplyDeleteAdorable, all three of them...and Legos are the best. I miss those days.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great time! I haven't commented for a while, but I do read your blog each morning via email. Aren't grandchildren the best thing ever???
ReplyDeleteSweet photos! Time with grandchildren is just the best!
ReplyDeleteLove reading these posts of your times spent with the girls. Always so full of fun and creativity.
ReplyDeleteSomeday those three girls are going to look back on their childhood and realize how idyllic it was ... and how fortunate they are. That picture of the girls on the darkened porch looking out at fireflies with their grandpa on a summer night is pure perfection. xoxo
