Girls shopping trip

Many of you will remember that my sisters and I always go away for a Christmas shopping trip in early November. This past weekend was the time for it.

It was very different from our normal trips.  First - covid!  Need I say more?  Shopping is not usual.  Then there is the fact that our families are getting older and gift giving becomes different so there aren't as many gifts to buy.  And then, as I mentioned yesterday, I've been having lots of joint pain and difficulty walking, my sister Cheri is having back issues and Terri is having knee issues.  A fine lot we are!

So we planned to do more online shopping and just stop at a few places.  We left later in the morning than we usually do.

My sisters were very patient and helpful, with just a little teasing directed at me!

We always have fun together and this was no exception.  It's good to talk and laugh!

Here we are in the restaurant at the end of shopping.  It was only 4:30 - a record for us!  Cheri is on the left, Terri is on the right, and I couldn't get her to behave for even one picture!

It used to be that we had to take several trips to haul stuff up to the hotel room and sort it, but it was different this year.  We had a really nice room, and had more fun talking and laughing.  The tv never got turned on.

We had a treat for later on - such a yummy cupcake.

This is another thing I'm thankful for - the blessing of a wonderful family and sisters that I can count on to support me, tease me and make me laugh!

  1. It's so nice to have sisters to have an outing with no matter the changes brought this year. The main thing is you were together and you have fun.

  4. You ALL look such fun (I used to read your sisters' blogs back when) Things are certainly different this year. My sister and I always meet up but age and covid and awaiting ops has changed things. Still we can Facetime!

It looks like a great time anyway together.

  6. Yes, my older grands want gift cards now so that is easy but seems rather impersonal but I want to get what pleases them and not me.lol I have most of my shopping done or at least I know what I have to get. This will be a different Christmas for sure. Hoping that vaccine becomes available soon!

  11. I am sure it was great for your soul to be with your sisters. I miss my family. My sister Terry stopped by and we chatted away while wearing our mask. Someday things will go back to normal.

  12. Family is the biggest blessing and sisters are the best! I don't have one but I consider all of my very close gf's the sisters I got to choose. They have been there through it all! I'm glad you still got to have your fun time, even if adapted a bit.

  13. I look forward every year to hearing about this trip and the great time you girls have together. It makes me sad that it wasn't the same this year. First, I am so sorry for your pain. I know what that's like and I sympathize and you are in my prayers. Then, all the other stuff ... don't get me started. I'm glad you all rose above it. Happy Thanksgiving! xoxo
