I found a cute craft to do with the girls using acorns. You know - we always have a lot of them around here!
I had the girls practice drawing some eyes and a mouth on paper, then let them draw with it on the acorns with a fine sharpie.
Then we took jute and put one end through each hole in the acorn cap. We made sure it was long enough to slip over their heads when tied. I tied the end, making sure the end was in the cap.
I then used hot glue to glue the cap onto the acorn. We tilted a few to the side so they looked liked berets.
Here they are! The 2 on the left are the ones Alaina did. I like the mustache on the blue guy. Ruby's are on the right.
Aren't they cute?
These are adorable, what a cool fall craft. The girls did a really good job drawing the faces!
ReplyDeleteThese acorn necklaces are so cute; your girls did a creative job.
ReplyDeleteSo, so cute! The pride shows on their faces as they show off their craftsmanship. Well done girls!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. I know the girls had fun making those sweet necklaces.
ReplyDeleteThose are soooo cute. Do you get your ideas on Pinterest? I love that you do crafts with our granddaughters. They clearly love their time with you! Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteOh, that's so cute. It brings bad happy memories for me. I grew up in a small Central Florida town and made those when I was a kid. We would string them together to make a complete necklace and pretend we were living in the woods like Indians. "Those were the days ... " :) Thanks for 'friending' me at MeWe.com! It's kinda boring right now but I think as the exodus continues from FB, it will get more lively. I like to share photos from around our home here in SE Georgia. Anyway, thanks! God bless y'all. xx
ReplyDeleteThe necklaces turned out so cute but lots of prep from Grandparents:)
ReplyDeleteAdorable!!! Where do you get your craft ideas?

ReplyDeleteI love the picture of Alaina concentrating.
Both girls did a great job drawing the faces.
Very clever, as usual! I think Ruby's acorns look more piratey than Alaina's. But they're all awesome. xoxo
