Our girlies came over last weekend and I didn't get a chance to tell you about it. We didn't do anything huge, but we always have fun.
Here's a few pics.
We did something new with them Bob got out our old Wii system and played Mario Cart with them. Ruby decided it wasn't for her and wanted to watch. She also kept patting Bob on the arm and saying "You're doing good Grandpa!" Alaina was driving her car off the road and spinning around. We told her she was never going to get a license. Lots of laughs! The next day we made some birdseed cakes to hang up and feed the birds. Once they got hard, the straws came out and we put jute through the holes to hang them with.
Here they are - they looked cute, but right after we took this pic, they fell apart! So this one was kind of a flop. The girls took them and put them on the ground in our side woods hoping the birds would find them.
They decided to collect some acorns for the squirrels at their house, and they found this big branch and tried to balance it.
Here's a few of the acorns they collected.
It was from Alaina.
It's always fun with the children around. I love the birdseed cake idea.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet that she secretly gave you that bag of goodies! Too bad about the bird food project fail.
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet girls you have Mair...that little bag made me chuckle. Isn't it nice when they leave something that makes you know they love you? When Landon had his ear drum repair last week, he could only have his mom and dad there. He told Amelia that he wished we could have been there too. Made me a happy Nana.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a fun Grandma!! And these treasures are something to keep forever; what is better than a gift picked out and given by a child? They are beautiful, you are so blessed!!
ReplyDeleteBummer about the birdseed cakes falling apart. I was going to ask for instructions to do it with Gam and then I read on... oh well I’m sure they still enjoyed the process.
ReplyDelete{{{big big smiles}}}I simply can not believe how much the girls have grown, Mari. PS Tell Bob I love his woodshop words, smiles.
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky that you all live so close and you get to spend time with your girls on a regular basis. And what fun things you do...Blessed...you and the girls!
ReplyDeleteAwwww, these girls of "yours" just make my day!!
ReplyDeleteThose girls are so beautiful, inside and out!! How sweet for Alaina to leave that goodie bag for you. Both of those sweethearts have a giving spirit!! And Ruby patting Bob's arm!! Melts my heart!
ReplyDeleteThose are two sweet girls! I just love their smiles and the little freckles across those cute noses. What a sweet gift. How special.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing pictures of and hearing about your "girls". What fun you have. And how amazing grandchildren are!!
ReplyDeleteThose girls get sweeter by the day. They are the real treasures. Bummer for the birds, failed seed cakes. Haaahaha xoxo
ReplyDeleteI just want to adopt you all and have you adopt me! Lol ❤️
ReplyDeleteOh, so happy to see the girls! They are so precious, Mari. You always find the best things for them to do at your house; well you and Bob! How sweet that was of Alaina, very thoughtful gesture. I love it.
