We decided to invite them all to an afternoon tea. Of course, it was held at work, so those who were working at the time could come for a while too.
We decorated our training room, and had a nice luncheon.
This little packet was full of fun things, things that make nurses laugh, some trivia, tips on relaxing... It says we are celebrating our "TEA"riffic nurses.
Flowers on the table
Big flower poofs in the windows
The welcome table, with little gift bags and thank you cards for each nurse. The bags had bandage scissors, pens, pads and chocolate in them - all necessary items for a nurse.
Also on the table were Mounds and Almond Joy candy bars. The paper above them says Nursing.. this job.. Some days it makes you feel like a nut, Some days it don't!
Some beautiful flower arrangements provided by our Director of Nursing's husband. He sent 5 of these to put on tables and said he wanted to thank them too.
Our dietary manager brought in antique tablecloths to use.
The food! Sub sandwiches, fruit, crackers and cheese, veggies and dip, cookies, mint brownies and cream cheese bars.
Chocolates and mints to finish with.
We had beautiful tea cups to drink punch or tea.
Here's our room with some of the people there. Those that were working came in a little later.
Two of our nurses enjoying their gift bags. The one on the right has been a Director of nursing, a nursing instructor, a nursing manager and then she retired. After she was gone about 3 weeks, she came back on call because she just couldn't stay away!
I found this in my office with a thank you card on nurses day. It was from one of our nurses who said she wanted to thank me for the ways I help her, but she thought she'd make it pandemic worthy. It's a bottle of Corona beer, tucked into a roll of toilet paper! I don't like beer, but it sure did make me laugh!
I also got this beautiful hanging basket from our administrator. It's prettier in person and the color of the flowers is gorgeous!
One other thing appeared at our building on nurses day. This sign made from a wooden pallet was put by the front door. No one saw it being delivered so we don't know who it's from. There was a note that said - from a grateful family. The sign says "Our heroes, Love and thanks". Heroes is misspelled, but we appreciated that anonymous gift!
It was a fun day for all of us!
