Window Visit!

We've been missing our girlies!  We haven't been able to see them since this lock-in started.
I had gotten an Easter bag together for them, and Bob and I went to drop it off.  We told them we were coming and that we would see them through the window.

Here's Bob poking at them.  The sun was shining and we couldn't see, so we went to a side window.

They opened this window to show us their fingernails.  (Opening the window kind of defeated the purpose of the window visit, but we maintained our distance!) They were having a spa day on this day.  This was supposed to be their Spring Break week, so Laura was trying to do something fun every day.

This is their dog Remie - he was happy to see us too!

They had fun opening their Easter things.  This card played music which they thought was pretty cool.
It was so good to see them.  I think we can make it through a few more weeks now.

  1. Great that you got to see them. The good thing about this whole Covid thing is that we appreciate our loved one so much more. Happy Easter!

  2. Aw, so glad you were able to see the girls and other members of your family even though it is at a distance. The girls look like they had fun painting their nails and the dog looks like he is really enjoying the fresh air on is face. Happy Easter Mari to you and hubby and all your family.

  3. Wonderful that you could see your girls! We didn't see our grands today but will see them (from a distance) tomorrow to deliver their Easter gifts.

  5. It is too hard, I know. You are near them however you can not kiss them. :(

  6. Isn't this a sad situation?! I hope the girls understand all this and not be traumatized by it all. I think I'd be in tears (that one of them behind the glass brought on the waterworks for me).

  8. So pleased you saw them both Mari. We've seen a couple of ours through the window, and their parents, speaking on the phone looking at them, which helps so much. (Plus Facetime or Skype)

  10. I'm glad you were able to see those precious girls, Mari. I know they have missed you and Bob tremendously also.

All this makes me wonder how they will remember these days in the future.

I hope your workload has slackened off. Many prayers for all of you nurses, doctors working in these difficult times.

    xoxo

  12. So precious, Mari! Sammy and Bianca get to be with their other grandparents all the time, so they couldn't understand why we stayed in the van yesterday. I tried to explain that Grandpa is diabetic and we are being very careful. Ugh. I can hardly wait till this is over. I really, really miss having grandchildren here at our house.

  14. I'm kind of glad we don't have little ones anymore because it seems like this social distancing thing hurts a lot worse for those who do have little ones. Our grands are all grown up and live farther away so texting and phone calls are our normal for family contact. We sure do miss our church and church family though. Your girls are so cute and opening the window to see better and talk would have been my more too! I know they miss being with you as much as you do them. Stay well!

  15. I know you must miss them. Bet they miss you just as much. You and your husband are such good grandparents. They always have something cute to tell you or show you. Makes me wish my granddaughters were that age again. When our Madison was very young and would come to spend the night, she would say, grandpa, I'm sleeping with grandma tonight so you can sleep some place else. You take care Mari.

  16. So wonderful you got to see the girls! Our usual dinner with my son and family on Sat. didn't happen of course. Really missed that and they live in another town so no window visiting. But we Facetime and that helps.

  17. All this separation is really, really hard. It must've been a joy to see them all and on such a special holiday.

  19. Our little Granddaughter has been visiting us but only in the garden, not the house and from a distance and wearing masks. She doesn't quite understand why we aren't giving her hugs which is sad.

  22. Those sweet girls are growing by leaps and bounds! I don't know how you've survived not being able to hug them and have them over to spend the night. xoxo
