Today's recipe is from my sister Cheri. She made this recently and thought you all would enjoy it. This is a side dish that looks classy and tastes great!
Maple Bacon Carrots
12 medium carrots, peeled
12 strips bacon
1/4 maple syrup
Freshly ground black pepper
Parboil carrots for 9 minutes. Preheat oven to 400°. Wrap each carrot in one strip of bacon, and place bacon ends down on a large baking sheet. Brush all over with maple syrup and season with black pepper.
Bake 20 minutes, remove from oven, and brush with remaining maple syrup. Bake 30 minutes more, or until carrots are tender and bacon is crisp. Serve.

Wow, this is different, but I like all the ingredients, so will have to give it a try sometime!
ReplyDeleteThat looks really lovely. Thank you for sharing. I'm thinking of maybe making one or two new to me things for this year's dinner so this one might make it on the list if I have time to pick up the maple syrup.
ReplyDeleteI know I would unwrap the carrots and eat the bacon!:)
ReplyDeleteOh my this looks so good. I'm definitely going to have to try this with the carrots we grew and our maple syrup.
ReplyDeleteIt does look classy but afraid I am not a big bacon fan.
ReplyDeleteThat really does make for a very pretty presentation. Thank you for sharing the recipe with us...and thank Cheri, too. ;)
ReplyDeleteI can almost smell the maple and bacon! Oh my goodness! Thanks to your sister!!
ReplyDeleteNot gonna lie ... I'm on the fence on this one! As Audrey often says: The carrots are cooked! Haahahaaha xoxo
