We had the girls overnight this weekend. It had been a while because of my trip to Texas, they had a vacation, and I had a few on-call weekends, so we were really looking forward to it.
Laura, Aaron and girls had been on vacation in northern Michigan and they had such fun!
Alaina had a bag of shells and stones for us, that she found by Lake Huron; shells, sea glass, a Petoskey stone and Charlevoix stones.
When we got to our house, there was time to play on the swing...
a walk around the yard...
and a little bike and scooter riding. That was fun until the mosquitoes started attacking us!
It was a hot night, so we went out to get ice cream. Ruby had to have Superman ice cream. This is a kiddy cone!
Alaina had hers in a bowl, she looking and acting older all the time.
Unfortunately, Ruby's face wasn't all that got dirty!
But, they enjoyed the ice cream and we all had a fun night.
What sweet faces! Looks like a great time!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the girls looked forward to being at your house as much as you and Bob did. It looks as if they had a super fun time!
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing the girlies...they are really growing up as all our grands are doing. Time slow down.
ReplyDeleteThe girls are so sweet and innocent, forget that about kids sometimes.
ReplyDeleteYou know, Alaina is a girl after my own heart, smiles.
ReplyDeletePS. OOPs, did it again, forgot to tell you I went back to Blogger-https://lindamconley.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteRuby sure enjoyed her ice cream!! I love that face!! And yes, Alaina is growing up so fast. Another fun sleep-over for all!!
ReplyDeleteThere times with you and Bob will be some of their best childhood memories - I have no doubt!! Sounds like one of those perfect summer nights. 😊 Have a blessed week ahead and a wonderful July 4th! xo
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! Never heard of that flavor. I'm more of a vanilla girl.....unless there's peach =)
ReplyDeleteI just love two! So glad you had them over. They are precious. I've been with the greats for a few days and like you enjoy every minute.
ReplyDeleteXoxo
I love when you share the granddaughters with us. I always loved collecting shells when I was a kid and we vacationed in FL. That ice cream Ruby has looks good!
ReplyDeletep.s. I remember how sad you and I were when Christina and Tarek divorced.....are you watching her new show? Christina on the Coast, I think. I've watched it a couple of times and it is pretty good.
ReplyDeleteSuperman ice cream and a Petosky stone! You've taken me back a few years. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh my, those freckles!
ReplyDeleteLovely shells and stones. My mother loves seashells and has a nice collection from her travels. The other day we were at her house and Dagny was thrilling to the sight of those shells. She had a ball sorting and examining them with great-grandma. Ruby and Alaina ... I've said it before but it bears repeating: the sight of sweet, innocent girls growing up in a loving family in the greatness that is America, enjoying simple pleasures and being children without rushing anything, is the essence of living large. They are so darling. And now I want ice cream. xoxo
ReplyDeleteHaha, so is it your job to wash the girls clothes before mom arrives back to pick them up?? :D
