Todays recipe is one that was shared with me not too long ago by my friend Jenny. I finally got around to making it and she was right - this tastes like no cake mix I've ever had. Of course, she also mentioned that you don't want to even think about the calories and carbs in this cake! But, for an occasional treat, I think it's ok! :)
Kicked Up Cake
1 box cake mix - follow directions on box but instead of:
2-3 eggs, add 4 eggs
replace water with milk or cream
replace oil with melted butter
add one 3 ounce box dry pudding mix - choose flavor to go with cake flavor
add 1/2 cup sour cream
Mix and bake as directed on box and you will have a moist, rich cake. Frost with your favorite frosting.
It looks delicious Mari. I"d probably try this recipe but right now am in the use it up phase and have several things I am trying to use up for desserts :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good cake for snacking.

I bet this cake is really moist! Dry cakes are the worst. Thanks for the recipe!
ReplyDeleteI must try adding the pudding , sounds like a game changer!
ReplyDeleteIt sure sounds good, but fattening. Of course, that's my favorite kind.
ReplyDeleteI will have a slice please.
ReplyDeleteOh girl this is the only way I do it! It's fantastic. Any flavor. Wow. xoxo
ReplyDeleteHmmm. Maybe I'll keep this for one of those times I can share most of the cake with other people and I want to impress them, hahaha! We definitely do not need the extra fat and carbs. It sounds scrumptious!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds so delicious. I love a good piece of cake.
ReplyDeleteYep yep yep! This is good to make for a crowd on a really special occasion, and everybody have a small piece. It's so rich, that's usually enough. Wasn't it fun to make, though? I love kicked-up recipes. xoxo
