It's looking like Christmas!

I have my Christmas decorations up so I'm inviting you in to see what things look like here.

Next to the house, I've hung a wreath on our gate.  It's been kind of covered up with snow, but a lot of it melted over the weekend.

If you come in the front door, you'll see these two little trees all lit up at night.

If you come in through the garage, you'll see that I've changed out my Thanksgiving turkey sign for the Jesus is the gift sign.

Most of our decorations are in the living room, including this tree.  We got this one last year, it's not too big but it fills in the corner and works in our room which isn't real big either!

We don't have a fireplace so we hang the stockings on a shelf.  They each have a wooden initial to identify whose it is.

This is on a side table next to the couch.

This little area is one I change out with the seasons and holidays.  The tiny nativity on top of the scale is one I made when I was helping lead MOPS.

Some of Bob's carvings come out too.  He did the Santa and the little sheep.

This is a nativity set that Laura made when she was in high school.  I love seeing it every year.
There are lots of details, including little chickens!

Here's a close up of the shepherds, sheep and cows.

I have some Christmas pillows I set out too, however, as you can see one is not going to be around for long.  Ruby somehow pulled two bells off and one is missing so I can't sew it back on!  :)

In the family room downstairs, we have another little tree.

We also have this old nativity set which was Bob's family set.  We got it when his mom moved into independent living.

We even have some decorations in the bathroom.

and a little more cheer!

In the dining room I have this cute little banner that I recently got in a giveaway from Connie of Crafty Home Cottage.  Isn't it perfect hanging there?  Thanks Connie!

This mistletoe is hanging from the light fixture in the dining room.  It was given to me be one of my residents.  It's a special piece for me.

In the dining room I've changed everything on the shelf, changed out the centerpiece on the table and I got that cute skinny tree. It fits perfectly in the corner.   We love the lights twinkling in there in the evening.
There are a few other things scattered around, but you've seen most of our decorations.  Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I love your gate Mari. Some homeowners here have similar gates and when I see them they remind me of Japanese gardens somehow. I do love all your Christmas decor too. Everything looks so cosy and comfortable. Just the right way to enjoy the Christmas season. Thank you for stopping by my blog today. I know it is a busy time for most of us and it takes a little extra effort to visit and comment on blogs :-) Have a wonderful week ahead.

  8. Homey and cozy and so Christmasy ... I love your smaller trees here and there rather than one massive tree. I put up only one tree this year but it's enough. Merry Christmas! xoxo

  9. Good Morning Mari,
Your home looks wonderful, inside and out. The gate is beautiful with the wreath and the whisper of snow. We haven't see snow yet, which is fine, because my Steve is also sick. I wouldn't want him to think he had to get out and clear the driveway. I absolutely love handmade crafts and you are certainly blessed with a talented family of artists. When they are made my hands that you love there are heart strings attached too and that makes them even more wonderful and true treasures. Thank you for the get well wish and for the shout out; the little banner looks lovely against that gorgeous paneled wall. I love your dinning room , it is so bright with the paneling and the big window . . . what a cheerful spot for family meals.
Wishing you a wonderful season. I worked as an activity director in an assisted living building for 8 years and I loved this time of the year . . . very busy, but filled with the love and spirit of goodwill to all. Stay well and enjoy the season.
    Connie :)

  12. It really looks like Christmas at your house. The wreath on the garden gate and the snow on the wreath, the little trees at the front door are all so festive.

You have sprinkled a lot of Christmas cheer all around on the inside making your home so warm and inviting for the Christmas season.

I know that you are especially enjoying your new look in the dining room at this time of year. Everything is so pretty, Mari!

  14. Mari, I love that garden gate! Hanging the wreath on it really dresses it up for the season. Your little jingle bells pillow could be save...don't discard it please. If I had it, I would take all the bells off and stencil "JINGLE" across the fabric area that goes across the middle with some red fabric paint (from Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc) or even chalk paint, and then I'd sew the jingle bells on the four corners or in a group with some green felt leaves so the bells look like berries.

Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a sweet comment. I'm adding your blog to my blog list so I'll see each new post. R/sharon
