Cooking Thursday

I've mentioned the Instantpot that I got for Christmas, and how much I'm enjoying it.  Several of you have told me you have one too and would like me to share recipes, so I have one for you today.
For those of you who haven't heard of them, an Instantpot is a pressure cooker that makes pressure cooking easy and safe.  It has other features as well - makes yogurt, rice cooking, slow cooking, sauteeing...   I've mostly used it to get a meal on the table quickly though, and that's what I have for you today.

Instantpot Spaghetti and Meatballs

1 bag frozen meatballs (I used Cooked Perfect brand, 26 meatballs)
16 ounces spaghetti
1 1/2 of a 24 ounce jar spaghetti sauce
1 jar (24 ounces) water
Parmesan cheese for garnish

Pour a little of the water into the Instantpot inner pot, then stir in the rest of the sauce and water.
Break the pasta into 4 pieces and stir into the sauce as best you can.
Add the frozen meatballs and stir.
Place lid on and lock, cook at high pressure for 3 minutes, followed by 5 minutes natural pressure release.  After the 5 minutes, release remainder of steam, stir and serve sprinkled with Parmesan cheese.
This makes a large quantity and I think it took less than 20 minutes from start to finish!

  1. Mari could you do a review on your instant? I keep hearing about this new product but I know very little about it.

  2. Hi Mari!
I think I saw them for sale (I don't know if I saw them in stores here in Portugal or online), but here, some people are buying Bimby.
That's a machine that does lot's of things in the kitchen too. Yogurts, roasting, rice, you name it.
I prefer pots and pans, but people say that it's very good, for people with little time to cook.
    Have a wonderful day!
    :)

  3. I keep seeing the Instantpdot and people raving about using it. I may have to check into one myself. Your spaghetti looks so good and I love the quick time it takes to make it. These appliances are great for those that are gone during the day and come home to supper easy to prepare.

  4. Our son keeps telling me about how much they love their Instantpot. He says if he had one small kitchen appliance to recommend to people that would be it. :) I am going to have to think more seriously about getting one.

  7. Whoa, girl. That looks yummy And, so quick; amazing.

Are you sure a non-cooker like me wouldn't blow the roof off the house with that instapot? I've always been afraid of pressure cookers, yet Mom used hers a lot.

  8. I am still afraid of mine. I just need to get it out again and start over. I wasn't impressed with my first attempt... over a year ago. Sigh.

  9. I want to try your recipe some day soon. Like Terri D, my first try with my Insta-Pot was a bummer. This recipe looks simple enough. I never heard of Cooked Perfect Meatballs. I will have Alan look for them the next time he shops.

  10. That is AMAZING!!! I Don't have one, but many of my friends do. Lori definitely doesn't let me get away with using store-bought meatballs. She can tell the difference if I ever do. So I always make them from scratch. I just had no idea it was possible to cook a meal that quickly!

  12. I didn’t know you could put noodles in the pot. I must get one. Christy got one for Christmas. She raves about it but she knows I hate to cook so I don’t listen much to her ravings.😁
