It's December! Here's how I spent the first day of the month.
I started work at 7am. The hall where my office is, was still dark - no one there but me!
I added the little joy sign to the cubby in the office, just a little Christmas decorating at work.
It was a busy day, with 2 meetings thrown in. I'm not a fan of meetings. I know they are necessary, but too often there is time wasted that I could use for other things!
Laura dropped Alaina and Ruby off at 3:30. She and Aaron were going to his work party that night and the girls were spending the night with us. She left, I finished a few things and the girls and I went home at 4pm.
We saw this cool old truck on the way home.
The girls had fun playing with this musical dog I had bought for them. It played Jingle Bells and danced. I must admit that we were happy to send it home with them, and had to apologize to Laura and Aaron for what they were going to have to listen to!
We had a Christmas party that evening with my Dad's family.
Excuse the blurry picture, I took it as we drove. The sunset was pretty that night.
My Dad comes from a family of 10, so there was a big group at the party!
The girls had fun playing with some games after supper.
Ruby thought it was great fun to play with the balls.
They were excited to show their presents to Great-grandpa and great-grandma.
On the way home, we admired the Christmas lights.
After getting jammies on, we checked out Ruby's new game.
After the game, they played with some photo-editing on Grandpa's I-pad and thought it was hilarious! Then it was time for bed.
Shortly after their bedtime, it was bedtime for us too. It was another good day!
What a fun time...your big family looks like a fun crowd!!
ReplyDeleteOh Mari, I'm so glad I stopped by. The girls are just beautiful. The post brought tears to my eyes. My mama's family was big. This year we lost two of her sisters and the uncle that we are closest to is not doing well. I'm thinking of fun days around the table at Christmas. So good to hear about your precious family.
ReplyDeleteAwwwwwwwww, perfect family! I so admire your days spent...and happy you share them.
ReplyDeleteHow adorable, and I want to be adopted into your family {{giggling}}. Thank you for the many smiles you bring, Mari. Have a beautiful day, friend.
ReplyDeleteThe girls are growing so fast.....and so cute and fun. Your Dad's family is very big, but I bet it was a fun time seeing everyone. Have a great Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing your big family parties. It looks like everyone had a nice time!
ReplyDeleteIm so glad you all had such a wonderful time.. I so miss family time. Your little girls are so adorable.
ReplyDeleteBtw...I just loved that old truck. I would want to drag it home and decorate it for Christmas

The girls are so cute playing together. That is a GREAT photo of grandpa and the girls laughing at the edit. Wishing you a pleasant evening.
ReplyDeleteI wonder who left their truck beside the road? Such an interesting photo. How nice of you to get the musical dog for the girls. I know that they loved it. Those ipad apps are hilarious! I enjoyed reading about your first day of December.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great day. I always love arriving to work before anyone else. Nice quiet time before my primary school fills up for the day! Looks like you had a great time with your grands!
ReplyDeleteThat really was a full day, but looks like fun. Those girls are so cute!
ReplyDeleteA good and busy day! The musical dog cracked me up, I bet Laura and Aaron were delighted to receive that too. Haha.
ReplyDeleteI giggled about you being glad to send that musical dog home with the girls! We've been known to remove batteries from toys when we just couldn't take them anymore!
ReplyDeleteThat was a very long day! Lots of good stuff.
What good Christmas fun. I love those blurry passenger-seat sunset pictures! I do that all the time. xoxo
ReplyDeleteAwww - I just love seeing them snuggle with Grandpa. :)
