The lilies are almost done. This is the last one blooming.
The daisies initial blooms are almost done too, but there are lots of new blooms getting ready to open. This bloom has seen better days, but still looks cheerful!
The phlox is also very happy. We have lots of it in both purple and white.
The purple coneflowers are another of my favorites. I love it's shape.
This back corner of the yard is loaded with flowers right now. On the left are the coneflowers, out of the picture are lots pf phlox, and the flowering bushes are Rose of Sharon. We have them in pink, purple and white.
Here is a close up of some of the Rose of Sharons.
We are really enjoying these purple chives. We planted them last year not knowing what they would look like in bloom, but they are so fun, both before opening and after.

ReplyDeleteYour backyard blooms are lovely this year. I have planted black-eyed susans for the last two years and they have died every time. Any hints as to how to keep them alive?
ReplyDeleteI want to transplant a few Rose of Sharon. I wasn't happy where the ones I planted were....and there are a few volunteers to put with them - just somewhere else.
ReplyDeleteI would like some chives and globe thistles. Both of these (well, everything else, too) are beautiful.
They're all so pretty! Hard to pick a favorite!

A walk through your yard reminds me of walking through Granny Kelly's yard with her. She would name the flowers and shrubs and was so proud of the beauty surrounding their home. They also had a grape arbor and a nice garden. Lush and green and abundant. Thanks for sharing your flowers and for reminding me of visits with my granny!!
