After church we picked up KFC, and met at a local park for lunch and to celebrate Bob, because it was his birthday on Friday, and we also celebrated Father's Day early.
It was a very hot day, and we were happy to have a Pavilion to enjoy the shade!
Alaina and Ruby enjoyed their chicken, but were much more excited to get done and play.
A slide is fun, even in a dress!
They love these tire swings.
Have you heard of cottonwood trees? This time of year they are releasing all this fuzzy stuff - it really does look like cotton! While we were eating we kept having to brush it away, and when we took a walk, we saw it scattered all over the lawn. In some spots there were big bunches of it clumped together.
We walked to a stream at the park, and Alaina was enthralled by these bright blue dragon flies.
Alaina took off her shoes and waded in the stream. She would have played more if she was in a swim suit.
Here's Bob and his little girls. What a nice afternoon!
What a fun day! I would loved to have heard the man talk in church about the differences...as I understand, they are BIG differences. Hope your week ahead is an easy one.
ReplyDeleteSounds quite perfect Mari, and those dear little girls!! What a privilege to have heard that talk
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome testimony that speaker has. Happy Birthday to Bob. A nice way to celebrate with family. I enjoyed the pics very much.
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice to hear of stories like the man who spoke at your church. So sorry that the mainstream media doesn't give equal time to those stories. Happy belated birthday to Bob!! Looks like you had a great celebration!! Those girls are adorable - always!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful day and I love seeing all the smiles of a family enjoying time together.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great time! The girls love their grandpa! :)
ReplyDeleteA picnic in a park with family after church....what a perfect Sunday!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics Mari! Looks like it was a wonderful weekend. ;) What a neat story about that speaker too. That's awesome!
ReplyDeleteWe have those cottonwoods around our house and get the "fluff" as we call it a lot this time of year! Ugh! Lol
Blessings xoxo
That is wonderful he has been saved:literally from death.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Bob! His charming girls are growing so fast.
When we lived in Arkansas Cottonwood trees were every where would
stop up
a air conditioner.
Oh, I wish I would have known. I would have loved to hear him speak!
ReplyDeleteI could tell that it was a hot day because Ruby and Alaina's faces are so red. I bet they did not care one bit! Happy Birthday to Bob! I know that he enjoyed it a lot! I wish that this man's talk would have been recorded. I would like to have heard it.
ReplyDeleteWas that Muslim man on the 700 Club? His testimony sounds familiar. Our neighboring town, Cottonwood, gives off quite the "snowstorm" with those fuzzies!
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming time together at the park! I can't get over what a little lady Alaina is. The girls are beautiful. We don't have cottonwood trees but how interesting! xoxo
