It was my weekend off and we had Alaina and Ruby overnight on Friday.
The weather is still cool here, but Spring has arrived and the local ice cream spot is open again. Alaina has been asking to go get ice cream for a while, so we stopped on our way home.
A good, yummy time was had by all!
On Saturday, Bob had to work. His store was having a special kids event though. Kids could come in and make something for their Moms for Mothers Day, so we went in and visited Grandpa and checked out the kids event.
First they painted the pots.
Then they worked on a card for their Mom.
While the paint dried, we wandered around the store and looked at all the animals that are mounted on the walls.
They got to pick out the flowers they wanted, and planted them in their pots.
There was popcorn to eat!
Here are the finished works of art, all ready for their Mom.
The girls had such fun making these. I brought them home, a little tired but excited to give them to Laura. Actually Ruby was so excited that she tipped hers over as she handed it off. It was easily fixed though.
It was a good weekend!
Alaina and Ruby are so sweet. Looks like they had a blast making Laura's gifts. I hope you have a nice Monday.
ReplyDeleteThey are just plum adorable...smiles. Have a beautiful Monday my friend.
ReplyDeleteYour grandgirls are so precious, Mari. How lovely that a store provided something as nice as that for a project for the children to have a gift for their moms.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm hungry for ice cream! haha
Also glad to hear that you had a weekend off!
Adorable Grands!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you all had a wonderful weekend, and many sweet memories made.

I can't believe how big the girls are, beautiful little girls :) Love their painted pots and I'm sure mom was thrilled :)
ReplyDeleteYou and your loved ones...such a precious family.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day Mari. Your girlies are getting bigger...I can see a change in them each time you post. I know Mama was happy to get those designer pots!!
ReplyDeleteAlaina has grown so much. They are both such precious little girls and I know they enjoy being with you. Their Mother will treasure those flower pots for many years to come. A very special memory.
ReplyDeleteHi Mari! I helped take the grandkids to Home Depot this weekend to paint pots too. What fun for the kids! They had a great time hammering and painting, and there were tons of children and dads there too.
ReplyDeleteWho doesn't love a trip to the ice cream place? I'd have had a scoop myself!
Blessings,
Ceil
Looks like such a fun weekend! You two are wonderful grandparents. The girls will have so many great memories when they're older.
ReplyDeleteHandmade gifts are the best. It looks like a lot of heart went into these!
ReplyDeleteThose girls are beyond adorable! How great that you get some good quality time with them often! Making the flower pots is a great project! Fun & good memories! Thanks for sharing them with us, Mari!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great day you had planned for these two munchkins! They are two little cuties! Glad you all had a great time!
ReplyDeleteVery fun! Those girls are just adorable! ;)
ReplyDeleteThey had a blast as usual, and the flower pots were so cute!
ReplyDeleteThose little girls are so beautiful and precious, and I can't believe how big they've grown. I can't wait until Dagny is able to do something for her mommy all on her own (with just a little help from me, haahaa). Happy Mother's Day to you, Mari! xoxo
ReplyDeleteWow they are growing up so fast! Every time I see them they look a little older. They look like they get on well together which must be nice. So no photo of you eating ice cream then? :D
