We had Alaina and Ruby overnight on Saturday.
Here's our Ruby in the car She loves to wear sunglasses, and lately has decided that they should be worn upside down.
I saw a cute project that I thought would be fun for us to do to celebrate the beginning of Spring.
We started by sorting M & M's into different colors. Ruby had a hard time with this. She could sort them all right, but it was so hard to put them on the plate and not into her mouth.
Next we put square pretzels on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Here Alaina is putting one white chocolate candy melt on each one. Then we popped them in the oven for about 4 minutes, just enough to soften the white chocolate.
Then we put the M & M's on each square, to make a Spring flower. As you can see, it took a lot of concentration!
Here are some of our cute flowers.
Alaina was very creative - she made several different versions!
Then it was time to taste them! Ruby ate them quickly...
And Alaina savored hers.
They slept well and were up early the next morning. Here they are, dressed cute for church.
After church and lunch, we brought them back home.
We always have fun together!
Ruby and I would be best friends....I would have a hard time leaving those alone too!! Love the flowers...so cute. And those sweet little ones dressed up for church...adorable.
ReplyDeleteCool glasses. Sure hope your easter is well celebrated.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
They are lovely girls aren't they!
ReplyDeleteThat's a cute project and looks tasty. The girls are precious in their matching outfits. I wish you all a blessed Easter. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI love the girls' matching dresses. They are so adorable! The pretzel flowers are such a cute treat for spring. Glad you made another memory.
ReplyDeleteI love how your girlies concentrated so hard on making their spring flowers. It reminds me of our girls...and also of our kids when they were young. Your sweet ones are adorable.
ReplyDelete{{{big, big smiles}}} What a nice time y'all had.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea to make the 'flowers', and can tell the girls enjoyed them too. Love Ruby in her sunglasses, and they are precious in their church dresses.
ReplyDeleteJust love this! May need to steal this idea. ;)
ReplyDeleteThey are so darn adorable! I can see that they are just the little loves of your life and bring such sunshine.
xoxo
Those two are the absolute living end. I feel Ruby's pain, having to "sort" the M&Ms instead of gobble them all up. The flower treats are darling, as are those church dresses! xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, they are so cute!! Love the last picture.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how you managed to get Ruby to sort any of them at all without eating them! :) They turned out so cute and they had a blast making them!
ReplyDeleteThose girls are so adorable! Looks like your fun project would also be a fun project for me and my Grands :)
ReplyDeleteSuch cuties!
ReplyDeleteTwo, sweet girls!
ReplyDeleteThose two girls are beyond adorable! The pretzel project is very cute, and I'm sure they were delicious!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I dropped by. They are both beautiful. I can't believe how much they have changed since my last visit. Darlings. I will have to try that with mine. I've missed those little activities since I started working. Yes, that will be a nice project for this weekend. Hope you are doing well.
ReplyDeleteSo precious - from the upside down sunglasses, to the difficulty keeping chocolates out of her mouth, to the lovely creations when they were completed, to the girls dressed for church... so much fun all in one post :) Hugs to you today!
ReplyDeleteYou are the ultimate Grammy to these adorable girls. The treats you made are a great combination of salty-sweet snacks. Bet that was fun with these two!
ReplyDeleteHaha I always love seeing photos of your granddaughters. Ruby always makes me grin just a little harder because she definitely has such a cheeky streak. The upside sunglasses as it all.
ReplyDeleteLove their matching outfits. And I do hope and pray they remain best of friends like me and my sister. Sisterhood is such a treasure of life.
ReplyDeleteCute projects. I'd be like Ruby tho...there'd probably be no m&m's left in my separating them. lol
Oh, I LOVE everything about this post, Mari!! But those church dresses are just the best!!!
