What's happening here...

Last week I told you we were having crazy weather here - cold and snow for days, followed by warmer weather and rain, only to have it freeze and snow again!  This week, warm weather is predicted again.

It's making a mess of our yard - lots of little branches have come down and lay scattered on the snow that's left.

The fields are a mess!  The snow melted and then re-froze.  Lots of ice!

There are also some exciting things happening!
You my remember that our church has been meeting in a school and we've been working on a new building.  This building houses our offices and classrooms.  It was recently finished, and approved for use.  Last week we moved in!  We will be building a worship center when we raise more money, and are so thankful for the way God has taken care of our congregation thus far!

And in more building news, this is the new addition at the nursing home I work at.  It's almost done.  We will be having a few open houses this week so the public can see it.  I can tell you it is beautiful, and will be a wonderful place for people when they need it.  This section is for skilled nursing; a place where people can come and rehabilitate, receiving therapy and nursing before going home.  The next step is a major re-do on the rest of the building, which will be for long term care.  We are very excited about all of it!
I'll show you pictures of this inside of this section next week, after the open houses are done.

  6. Crazy and similar weather here as well in western NY. Today is freezing rain and the parking lot at the high school looks like a sheet of ice (can see the parking lot out our back door).

    Have a beautiful day friend.

  8. So happy about being able to move in to the new space for your church's offices and classrooms! Wonderful news!

Surely sorry about all of your nasty weather. These snows being followed by warmer temps and rain, then freezing temps again has put a lot of people up against the ice. Our son's family lives in Maine and it has been a mess there too.

How exciting for the new addition where you work. I'll look forward to seeing pictures of the inside.

  9. How exciting about your church building. So pleased to see it. We meet in an old children's Play Barn with all kinds of fun equipment and a ball park. Very hard work stripping it all but it's been great. We actually call it theBarn as well as all the locals knew it as the Barn. Good to see the other building work as well. Think I might just book a place for years to come!

  11. Thank you for your kind comment on my blog.
We have had unusually warm weather and rain here. Our yard has a lot of muddy spots that are slick.
What a blessing your new church building is. Thanks for sharing the pics.
I know you are very proud of the nursing facility, too.
Hope you are having a good evening.

  12. How exciting! Fillmore church is one of three locations, each one very old and not handicap-friendly. They have purchased a property from a church member who is moving to Florida. The house will become the parsonage and the huge amount of land will have a new worship center and offices, etc built on it. It will eventually replace all three old church buildings, the current parsonage, and the office building which is here in the community where Dick and I live. It will take years to accomplish, but it feels exciting to have the land.

  13. Wow all that building work going on, both your church and nursing home look like the new buildings will be used well. We are about to make new changes to our church too. I'm on the design team which is fun.

  15. Even when it looks gloomy and messy outside, the Lord is working on the inside and many great things are being accomplished. The excitement will get all of you through those long Michigan winters.
I am so happy that you are apart of both buildings.

  17. Everything looks so spiffy! I am glad you get to enjoy beautiful new spaces both at church and at work. Our new church sanctuary (about five years old) has been such a blessing to our congregation.

This weather is just weird. We are in the low 70s every day. My air conditioning came on yesterday! I don't really like it but I won't complain because that would be pointless. I do hope for more cold wintry days before spring arrives! xoxo
