Cooking Thursday

One of Bob's favorite meals is meatloaf.  I have a recipe I usually use, but a friend posted this recipe on facebook and said it was good, so I decided to try it.   We really liked it - I think I have found a new recipe!  If you like meatloaf, you should give this one a try.


Best Meatloaf Ever

1 envelope Lipton onion soup mix 
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef 
1 c. fresh bread crumbs 
1 egg 
1/2 c. water 
1/4 c. ketchup

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all ingredients. In large shallow baking pan, shape into loaf. Place in oven and bake 30 minutes.  While meatloaf is baking, mix:
1/2 cup ketchup
1/3 cup brown sugar
When meatloaf has been in oven for 30 minutes, spread ketchup mix over top.  Return to oven and bake another 15 minutes.

    I actually just made meatloaf today for my family...though I could add a muhahaha after that remark. ;) It seems I have a knack for making *well-done* meatloaf. Your recipe looks nice and easy.

    Onion soup mix....I always used fresh chopped onion, but I am surely gonna try THIS!!

    My TG loves meatloaf and this is a lot like the recipe I usually use but haven't made in years. I think I'll surprise him with a meatloaf and mashed potatoes. He'll flip. Thanks for this great recipe, Mari. So easy! xoxo

    Joe will only eat my meatloaf, but I bet he would love this recipe too. I use quick oats instead of bread and usually throw in an egg. That glaze makes it, though! Yum! I'm saving this!! Thanks!

    I love meatloaf and I'm always open to new recipes for it. I think I like the leftovers on sandwiches better than the original meal;)

    I've used this one before and Mr. H really likes the Lipton Onion soup. I prefer the one on the back of the Quaker Oats box. It was my mama's favorite.
