We've had a much milder winter here than usual, and early last week there was only the occasional spot of snow left melting in some areas. That changed on Wednesday. It started snowing about noon and by the time I came home around 4 it was snowing like crazy and the roads were slippery.
Here's a few pictures from the afternoon.
By Thursday morning we got 9 inches of snow! When I left for work in the morning the skies were clear and it was just beautiful!
It's been quite warm this weekend and the snow is almost melted again. However, I hear another big storm is going to be heading our way on Tuesday and Wednesday. We'll see what happens!
I must admit that even though it's been a good winter, I'm looking forward to Spring.
We had the same thing Wed and Thurs....but today is was in the 60's and all gone! haha.
ReplyDeleteReally pretty photos, Mari, and you know I like seeing snow from afar! :) Nine inches!! Wow.
ReplyDeleteOld Man Winter continues to play jokes on us, doesnt he? One day here it will be sunny and 65, like today. Tomorrow rain is to come again and the temps to drop drastically. I love winter, but even I am ready for more sunshine, and flowers blooming. Be safe out there.
ReplyDeleteour winter has been so mild! We were told to expect 130" of snow this winter, but have had maybe 50 or so. but I am not going to hold my breath..I've heard that March is our worst month for snow :/ We shall see!!
ReplyDeleteWow, it looks like winter just arrived :) The snow is quite beautiful and I truly hope you enjoy it while it lasts.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week! Hugs!
If we'd had 9 inches of snow here in the UK no one would be going anywhere! We just wouldn't cope. The weather here is very cold with heavy frosts and that is enough for me!
ReplyDeleteUgh, your system is suppose to hit us as well...it is very warm here this morning (55*) but it is raining and I guess the temp. is suppose to drop and start snowing. Have a beautiful day, regardless of the weather. Blessings
ReplyDeleteI would be like you....anxious for Spring to arrive. But think of it this way----if you are getting so much moisture in the snowfall, the Spring flowers will surely be outstanding!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, you are still in the midst of it Mari!! We are having springlike temps here and I saw some trees blooming as well as the daffodils. I am ready for spring and I am sure you are as well.
ReplyDeleteSpring - oh, how I love that word!
ReplyDeleteI'm sitting here shivering my gizzards looking at your pics. But, they are really beautiful. You just be careful driving, my friend.
xoxo
Hi Mari! Nine inches??? Oh my gosh, that is a LOT! The snow predicted for us moved over to Indiana, so it was a mess there, but fine here. It's going to be in the 50's today, and then back to winter cold. What a crazy winter!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the streets were safe for you, especially getting to work in the early morning. Drive safe!!
Happy Leap Day :)

Okay - I was complaining about an inch or so after our beautiful day melted so much. I promise not to complain now! Lol!! So pretty - but ready for it to end. We'll just keep thinking our springy thoughts my Friend! ;)
ReplyDeleteBlessings Mari. xoxo
Beautiful pictures! This has been a weird winter, weather-wise (say that fast three times ;-). Hope ou are able to stay warm and cozy inside this week!
ReplyDeleteI heard the snow really fell up there!
ReplyDeleteWe had a couple of inches, but it didn't last.
Those photos almost make me wish we'd had more. Almost.
It's so pretty coming down. I wish I could just sit in a window all snug and cozy, and watch. You can make the tea and cookies. Haaahahaha xoxo
ReplyDeleteYour snow pictures are lovely. Same here. The snow we got last night is now gone but tonight more is coming. It will soon be spring and we can be happy.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures!! I'm afraid we will have the opportunity to take some of those on Friday - if the weather forecast is correct.
