In our area most of the leaves have fallen or been blown off the trees. The trees in our yard are always a little slow though. We have oak trees and the leaves usually don't come down until there is snow on the ground.
See all those leaves waiting to fall?
Something else has been falling though!
Our yard has been covered in acorns! The squirrels and chipmunks are very happy, but it's making a lot of work for Bob.
Here's a close up of a load of them in his wheel barrow.
One full wheelbarrow! So far he's taken care of 8 full wheelbarrows from our front yard, and there are still acorns out there! I'm thankful for all the work he does to maintain our yard.
Wow, that is a lot of acorns. I remember being at my cousins in the fall and seeing a lot of acorns.
ReplyDeleteHoly Cannoli, that's a lot of acorns! You have a big yard, Mari, and it looks so nice. :)
ReplyDeletexoxo
That is a lot of acorns. What happens to them if they are not picked up?
ReplyDeleteAwww....now leave those chipmunks and squirrels alone, LOL. That sure is a lot of yard to pick up...Blessings
ReplyDeleteAnd I was wanting some acorns to paint like the ones I saw on pinterest...now I know where to go and get some Mari!!
ReplyDeleteNow that is ALOT of acorns my friend....I remember last year, how he worked and worked to get rid of them. There is definitely enough for the squirrels to hoard for the winter. Have a happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteI just can't get over how many acorns you get - that's crazy!! God bless Bob. Lol!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you have lots of happy squirrels around there.
Happy week ahead xoxo
You must have very healthy trees and lots of happy squirrels! I can't believe there were enough acorns to fill 18 wheelbarrow loads, that's just amazing.
ReplyDeleteYou will sure have some fat happy squirrels this year.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I think we raked up as many acorns as we did leaves back home.
ReplyDeleteWe have had masses of acorns and leaves already this year and the leaves are mostly still on the oak trees, they will not all come down until after Christmas probably. They certainly hang on a long time don't they! xx
ReplyDeleteWow, what a bunch of leaves! All the leaves here have fallen and right at this moment we are enjoying a winter snow storm {{smiles}} Have a lovely week, Mari. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWe get them too, but not that many! Oh my goodness.
ReplyDeletePoor Bob...what a lot of acorns.
ReplyDeleteWhat does he do with them all?
Have a great week
Phoebe x
I can see him paying his granddaughters in a few years to do that! haha. A penny an acorn!
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at Betsy's comment. Oh so true! One of these days Alaina and Ruby will need some spending money.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I know that's a lot of work. A few years ago we had more acorns than usual. This year it's the usual ten tons, LOL ... TG will have fun when he does the final cleanup before Thanksgiving company arrives. xoxo
ReplyDeletemore difficult than leaves no doubt!
ReplyDeleteWe have the same thing going on. There are acorns everywhere in our front yard...more acorns than grass for sure.
ReplyDeleteThat IS a lot of acorns! I miss having shade trees at our place - except at this time of year!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! That has to be squirrel heaven!
ReplyDeleteDo you help in the garden too? Well I can beat Bob in the number of wheelbarrows I've filled so far! Ha. Not that it's a competition of course. :D
