It's a bumper crop!

In our area most of the leaves have fallen or been blown off the trees.  The trees in our yard are always a little slow though.  We have oak trees and the leaves usually don't come down until there is snow on the ground.

See all those leaves waiting to fall?

Something else has been falling though!

Our yard has been covered in acorns!  The squirrels and chipmunks are very happy, but it's making a lot of work for Bob.

Here's a close up of a load of them in his wheel barrow.

One full wheelbarrow!  So far he's taken care of 8 full wheelbarrows from our front yard, and there are still acorns out there!  I'm thankful for all the work he does to maintain our yard.

  6. Now that is ALOT of acorns my friend....I remember last year, how he worked and worked to get rid of them. There is definitely enough for the squirrels to hoard for the winter. Have a happy Monday!

  8. You must have very healthy trees and lots of happy squirrels! I can't believe there were enough acorns to fill 18 wheelbarrow loads, that's just amazing.

  11. We have had masses of acorns and leaves already this year and the leaves are mostly still on the oak trees, they will not all come down until after Christmas probably. They certainly hang on a long time don't they! xx

  17. Oh wow, I know that's a lot of work. A few years ago we had more acorns than usual. This year it's the usual ten tons, LOL ... TG will have fun when he does the final cleanup before Thanksgiving company arrives. xoxo
