We have a special volunteer who comes to the nursing home every other week. I think he may be the most anticipated volunteer we have. His name is Bentley, and he's a dog! He is very gentle and is well trained. He stands right next to people and lets them pet him.
This week, he came in costume for Halloween. I don't think he was too happy about this outfit because he didn't want to look at me for his picture. Our residents loved it though!
Isn't he cute?
What a DARLING! I want to hug and kiss him. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThat is the cutest thing I have seen today.....I bet the patients love when he comes to visit....
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little fellow! My neighbor has a dog who is adorable. She bought him a Halloween costume, a cowboy hat vest and bandana. He looks adorable but hates having the hat on I think the elastic holding it on bothers him. Everyone gets such a kick when he stops to get attention from them. I'll wager Bentley is good medicine for your patients.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie and a special friend to the residents!
ReplyDeleteIndeed he is! I'm sure the residents love him! It is neat when animals come to visit the elderly. I know some retirement homes have resident pets. One nearby has a couple cats. I remember one in Portland though that had a big, slobbery, black lab. I wasn't impressed with that one!
ReplyDeleteBentley looks like just the perfect dog to visit residents!
Bentley is adorable!! It is amazing how animals can calm a troubled soul, lower blood pressure, ease stress. Bless Bentley's owners for their special ministry!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness what a sweet heart!! I think it is wonderful that the owners of service animals take time to make others happy with their special pets.
ReplyDeleteBentley is an adorable dog! You can just see the sweetness in his eyes; no wonder he is a treasured visitor/volunteer :)
